This music had all the elements that made so many bands popular at the time of its release. The genius was how these elements came out in Linkin Park's sound. You can hear grunge a.k.a. Nirvana, rap a.k.a. Rage Against the Machine, metal a.k.a. the genre in general, and pop (evidenced by the melodies). In their hands, it all came out as their individual sound. For me, the words, Linkin Park, conjured thoughts of quality and thoughts of a fresh sound. Though there were similarities with other artists of the day (Limp Biscuit, Third Eye Blind, etc.), time has shown that Linkin Park had the writing skills and talents to outlast their contemporaries.

this song is fantastic . it really shows the anger of one's inability to rely on themselves; it voices what i feel very well. the instrumentation shows how burning the frustration can be, how chaotic it can become. you know you can't rely on yourself but still question it and it only leads to anger and frustration and god does this song convey it well. the end provides an unsatisfactory yet inevitable resolution to the issues pondered within the song; they stop abruptly almost as if to signify one's wish to cease all thought. This song is truly a masterpiece. I am extremely sad to know that the man that wrote it is no longer living. RIP Chester

I'm no expert on this but one of that many things Chester and Kurt have in common is their ability to scream while still sounding quite melodic which is very satisfying to my ears .
@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid3 жыл бұрын
The only things Chester and Kurt had in common is that they were both rock singers and both died by suicide. Their singing styles, musical style sand influences, personalities, looks and pretty much everything else were completely different. I don't mean no disrespect to either, but they weren't similar at all and I feel like the only reason they are compared is because of their deaths- which sucks, because they deserve to be remembered by their lives and legacies, not just their demise.

I was at work, when news came over the radio, about him. I was fixing a lawn mower tractor. The tone of the shop went quiet you could hear a bolt drop. And ting an ding across the floor. I was mad and upset at the time, but, then I put myself in his shoes and how he could have felt. Even though he had millions and had a big fan base for whatever reason he was still sad and depressed and felt his music wasn’t therapeutic for him to get over his demons. From the comments this band touched so many lives. And even though we lost someone we looked up too. I know we all for gave him for his actions and we are all still listening to his music like he is still present on Mother Earth..to this day…

GOD created us to be with Him. (Genesis 1-2) OUR sins separate us from God. (Genesis 3) SINS cannot be removed by good deeds. I always considered myself a "Hard old style metal lover", starting in my childhood with bands as Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, Maiden and the rest. When in the last years of the 90s appears the nu-metal my first reaction was very skeptical, I accepted bands as Papa Roach or System of a Down, but hated anothers... Then, Linkin Park appeared: I remember me listening and liking some songs but not acepting many others, and always respecting Chester´s voice. Now I cannot stop listening their songs, especially this album, all tracks are absolutely perfection... Now I´m in love with LP, I really miss so much Chester voice.
