I've been using his post technique for many years. This was a well done breakdown. also adding that the hops throws off the defender's ability to secure their own stance, Which allowed Kobe to be more physical.
@1RC1dominic
@1RC1dominic 4 жыл бұрын
it is surprisingly useful. Even i am surprised it works for me because im short. i cant make tough shots like kobe, so i just use it for creating space.
@SwatBrown36
@SwatBrown36 4 жыл бұрын
@@1RC1dominic part of Kobe's ability to hit tough shots was in his repetition but most Importantly his form. He's was two motion shooter. With the ball well above his head, he used a lot of lift on his shot to 1 balence himself in the air and 2 get over the defense. It's not traditionally what is taught for shooting but I believe the benefits especially in the post is well worth learning.
@willhooke
@willhooke 4 жыл бұрын
@@SwatBrown36 Yeah, I'm thinking 2 Motion is legit for Post game. Maybe not as slick for 3s, but the ability to hang time gives the 2 Motion an edge in the post, in my opinion.
@SwatBrown36
@SwatBrown36 4 жыл бұрын
@@willhooke absolutely. Because your closer to the rim, your arms don't need the power from your legs. Your legs only gives you the lift over your defender from 5 to 10 feet. 2 motion shooting from 3 is hard to be consistent. Especially late in games and if you are a defensive player.

Fr people forget how much Kobe had to perfect his footwork he couldn’t get the elevation mj could because he was no where near as athletic as him.

1:19 he also probably realized it's a lot easier for the defender to get a solid contest on the shot if he turns to their free hand. but of course, then kobe will just pump again, take a step into the paint, and lob it to himself off the glass, all on the same pivot foot.

Of course we did!!! This is very very helpful as i'm developing my fadeaway lately and who else to pattern it after but the 2nd and best guys to do it, MJ and Kobe ,😄...speaking of which: can you do a breakdown of MJ's post game as well? Kobe mentioned MJ's approach is "tactical efficient" and i think that's another good thing to learn..and yeah do a Larry Bird too for non-athletic guys like me 😁 cheers and thanks from the Philippines

@@bilalghafoor1943 yup there is for example kobe uses whenever he catches the ball he uses footreplacement so that he can choose right or left pivot foot. Mike 95% I haven’t seen him do that, kobe does it 90% of the time. Jordan’s driving to the basket is slightly better gets on better angles. Kobe’s more on skills and ball handling.
