Hi Björn Keep the English versions going, but I’ll only check out the cars that will be available in Europe. Love the change of environment, and seeing Thai scenery and circumstances are interesting and fun. So keep it up, still the most entertaining and thorough testing of EV’s around. Not a fair test. The average speed of this test is probably around 70 kmh or even 60 kmh. There were so many red lights along that "highway", and each stop is like almost 1 minute of complete stop. Also, the first 20 mins of the test was driven in 50 kmh curvy road. This is just Not a standard 90 kmh test. That's why the efficiency looks much better than it really is.

The stop lights mean car is stopped and needs to bring the vehicle back up to highway speed again. While there is some regen this is not as much as the energy used to get back up to a rolling speed. While it reduces the average speed it detracts from efficiency.

People need to get off the old perception of "made in China" quality, especially as it relates to EVs, since the Chinese EV market is the largest and most cut throat in the world. There are well over 100 models of EVs you can buy in China, all fighting for market share. This is not the US where Tesla delivers customer cars with poor build quality and dares them to refuse delivery because there isn't any alternative. In China, even Tesla needs to QA their cars because your customers will walk out due to having so many options. Crappy EVs launched in China rapidly get weeded out. There is a good reason BYD Atto 3, Dolphin, and Seal are all selling like hotcakes in China, and it is because they are all well built and efficient cars, especially at the price point BYD is selling them at.

Brother, before you say this, first touch your wallet to see how much money you have, and then look up at the sky, where there are three Chinese people flying in space. China produces electric cars from a few hundred RMB to a few million RMB, I don't know which kind of car you are talking about is low standard. Chinese car exports will think that because of the local tariff policy, it is 1.5 to 2 times more expensive than China's domestic, you pay enough money? The quality is not good, you have to ask your local dealer why they choose this quality car and not how about made in China. In addition to very few areas China can not produce, other areas as long as you buy money, made in China has never been a problem. This field can be narrowed down to less than a thousand items. Make more money, brother.

Nope. It's fair. When I'm standing still, I'm actually spending extra energy. And like I already said in the video, the majority of the test was done at 90 km/h non-stop. I suggest that you actually watch the whole video to understand what's going on.
@Vxvx22
@Vxvx22 Жыл бұрын
@@bjornnyland I did watched the whole video. An EV not moving definitely spend way way less energy than traveling at 90 kmh during those time the EV is stopped. In all EV range test, the average speed is SO important. You cannot have one EV with average test speed at 87 kmh and another EV at 70 or 80 kmh. And then say the results are comparable. In addition, this test was done at 26 Celsius. Pretty much the absolute best temperature to get the best result for all EV because No A.C. or heat need to be used in the car.
@bjornnyland
@bjornnyland Жыл бұрын
The low average speed is because of stop lights. Let me repeat: When stopped, it's a *disadvantage* for the consumption since the car needs to run AC. Actual average driving speed is closer to 85-88 km/h.
@Vxvx22
@Vxvx22 Жыл бұрын
@@bjornnyland Bjorn, i am a long time viewer of your channel and many other EV channels. And I am an electrical engineer myself. If you look at your other videos, for example, the Hyundai or Kia 90 kmh range test. The Korean car center screen shows the energy usage of various systems (electric motors, HVAC, electronic etc). Let use Hyundai Kona for example, the car screen shows it need around 10 kw to 14 kw in electric motors to maintain 90 kmh speed in your own range test. While HVAC (heat or AC) use around 0.4 kw (400 watt) to 3 kw in the absolute worst temperature. 3 kw is the usage when outside temperature is at -20 Celsius in extreme cold weather with heat in full blast. So 10 kw lowest possible number for electric motor vs 3 kw highest possible number for HVAC. How can you claim an EV stopped with A.C. turned ON spend more energy than when the EV is traveling at 90 kmh? It doesn't make any sense. If your statement is true, then an EV completely NOT moving with AC On for 30 mins (for example) would spend way MORE energy compare to the same EV traveling 90 kmh for 30 mins straight. This makes no sense at all. Yes, i know the low average speed is because you stopped in many red lights (and also low travel speed in the first 15 to 20 mins of the test). That's what I am trying to say, your many stops makes the average speed much lower than a normal 90 kmh test. Thus, make the energy consumption too low. Thus, making this EV looks more efficient than it really is.
