Many countries in mainland Europe have the Seal U EV. It’s even for sale in the only CEE countries where BYD is currently available, ie Poland and Hungary.

Eh Up Nobby, just found your review site whilst researching the BYD u dm I, seems like a good car and plenty big enough for me, disappointed that it's not available as all electric Great review & information Cheers Garry B in Manchester UK

Once again, another great review from Nobby. Nobby you should do a car review at night time just to see what the lights on the interior looks like.

Another excellent honest review. BYD are quietly becoming the market leaders in electric at this stage.

Tesla relies on CATL, a Chinese company, for its EV batteries, while Mercedes-Benz partners with BYD. In fact, Chinese companies dominate the global EV battery market, supplying an impressive 60% of all batteries. Since EV batteries account for approximately half the vehicle's cost, opting for a Chinese-made EV can offer significant savings.

If you live in an area that power outages are possible the V2L capability can theoretically power some basic appliances up to 3.5KW continuously for a week, er and it’s a car too.

Hi, when I did a test drive , I felt that it’s light weight. What’s your opinion when you drive this car in a windy weather on high ways ?

Is that trim colour going to be more readily available in the future? In Australia there is only two (2 tone) options and I don't like either!

I want to buy one of these. I took out for a test drive before reading reviews, I kind of felt the vagueness in the steering wheel, but didn't really feel the floaty suspensions. Of course that was because I was just driving in the city, didn't really challenge the car. . We like to travel a lot so I like the efficiency of the comfort trim but in a long journey are the floaty suspensions going to make me regret buying it?

It’s not a sea sick feeling by any means. Ask them can you take one for a longer spin!

Love your vids Nobby, very informative. Appreciate you use litres/100km and kilometres in Ireland, so can you help us miles / gallon users in the UK by putting in some text overlays to show what the corresponding figures are please? Thanks!

Hi, will it come in a 7 seater version? Any info?
@DianeMarshall-z3k25 күн бұрын
I took a Boost version out for 10 mins, then read the reviews and they all mention the floaty suspension, so I took it out again for 1 hour down the twisty lanes, and yes the suspension was a bit fidgety at lower speeds, and I was expecting it to lean more than my MKv Zodiac back in the 70's, but it did not seem to lean anymore than my IX3 to be honest, I found the screen more of an issue, I was prodding away all on the wrong screens, a 12 year old would have no issues, and to be fair once I stopped it all became a bit more logical, so would like everything need time, and at my age more time, I am not a reviewer but have driven a variety of vehicles over 47 years, so I am sure whatever Nobby did say is correct, just as he said for a lot of us it won't matter, or we will not notice I have my eye on the comfort model, but dealers in UK cannot say when or if the Tan interior will ever come Keep the reviews coming Nobby, hope you do the EV3, but top of the range spec at 44k, and the BYD comfort 35k before discount!!

hi Diane - the screen takes a bit of getting used to but I've been in a few BYD cars this year now and each time I find the screens get easier to navigate. Looking at the EV3 next week in Germany!

@@NobbyOnCars Thanks Nobby, will look forward to that, retirement is moving me to purchase my own car in over 40 years, EV really works for me, but struggling to find something that is a bit higher (to get in and out of) at a reasonable price, that is why the BYD ticks most boxes

Will the cost of BYD (and other Chinese cars) cars go up with the new EU tariffs? Might be a tougher sell if the price shoots up but at the quoted price it's going to sell well.
@NobbyOnCars19 күн бұрын
Uncertainty over it at the moment. BYD have somewhat suggested they will absorb the cost if it happens. We’ll wait and see but if I was in the market I’d be buying now in case it does happen.

Leg room in the byd if you're tall both in the front and the rear is not great at all as I have tried it out and I'm 6'5 so have to have the drivers seat all the way back so not much room behind, and then there's the boot, the kia sportarge is not great either but better than the byd but the skoda kodiak is far the best and has the comfort too and better range so yea that's the one for me, great review loving the content 😎
