I've been playing Centur-ion since INFO dropped and I've been a huge fan of the Millennium cards. I think Sengenjin should be a staple of the deck, and the Golem/Temple are really nice if you're playing other ways to take advantage of the bodies. Personally I'm playing the deck with Fiendsmiths right now, as there is a line to turn any 2 bodies (or light fiend) into Primus by playing Vision Resonator with Aerial Eater, Agnumday, and Necroquip Princess, and if you're already comboing you can just go into Desirae instead of Aerial Eater. Another line can leverage any level 3 tuner hand trap into Auxila by synchroing with Desirae, with the intent to have Agnumday revive it later in the turn, and the combination of Fiendsmith equips and placing a spell via Wedju Temple makes True Awakening a viable maindeck inclusion without getting in the way of the normal play sequences. Playing those cards made the extra deck incredibly tight, but gives the deck the ability to better play past hand traps and into established boards, as pure Centur-ion often struggles even against the half boards decks would put up after being hand trapped. Fiendsmiths giving you incredibly easy access to an early LIGHT Chaos Angel also can't be understated. It does give up a small portion of the deck's natural advantage vs Shifter and Fuwalos as there are a higher density of hands that can't combo profitably into those cards, but I think it's a worthwhile trade to boost your performance against the field at large. I ultimately cut Lubellion from my list, as it compounds the added weakness to Shifter that the Fiendsmith engine introduces, and with the Fiendsmith equips I found myself actually very tight on board space in the back row making Regained a liability. Often my end boards will have both Agnumday and Sequence equipped to Desirae, 2 Centur-ions ready to summon, and a set True Awakening to send the Agnumday as a negate, or 2 other sets with only 1 equip, and in either case the Regained just can't fit on the end board. I was originally worried that cutting it would run the risk of running out of plays in long games as I didn't have that built-in way to recycle my synchros, but I have yet to have a game where that was actually a factor. The Fiendsmiths also make the situations of using Regained's revive to make Chaos Angel less important as well, as Lacrima can revive Agnumday or Requiem to summon an Engraver on the opponent's turn for that missing level 6. Bystials as hand traps/extenders are still too good to not play though. I'm still on 1 of each of the 3 good names, with an additional Druiswurm in the side.

Bringer of end times is really good in centur-ion because you have effects that protect your cards from general effect destruction ( auxilia protects all your face up back row and primera protects all your lv5 and higher centur-ion monsters) and so you can use it targeting your cards that can't be destroyed to simply go one for one with your opponent. Another card/package I really like is silhouhat rabbit and trick because you can make it with an extra Bystial or by using phalanx while letting you get a better grind game as all your centur-ion main deck monsters trigger it's back row pop effect.

I believe you weren't satisfied with the deck because of your approach to Bystials. First, this ratio doesn't help Atrii spam because you get 3 dead draws and 2 activations only. Baldrake can turn a Veiler pass into a powerful interruption by banishing Closed Heaven or Murcielago immediately ending those engines while allowing Nib to get even more value by making you hit the comeback play (for example a Charmer or Promethean). My personal favorite ratio is 1 each of all 3 Bystials. Then for daddy Lubellion, 2 is my sweet spot but I still want 3 Lubellion and Saronir perfectly fits the bill by giving you access to Lub + becoming an interruption itself + milling Magna for Regained to promote the grind + more importantly allowing you to side Beast for grindy matchups. Then, Bystials are your doorway to lvl10 synchros and the star of the show: Chaos Angel. Light/Dark Chaos Angel is nasty game 1 where Snake Azamina Fiendsmith do not have an out and Fire Kings typically side Sky Burn. Cheng is one of my favorite cards but we can't reliably trigger it many times requiring Phalanx (either effect) and as a turn 1 disruption Chaos Angel can achieve the same results while going second we can have a MUCH more impactful synchro 10. Bystials will get value in every matchup, even against Fire King where you banish Murcielago to prevent Sacred from adding itself cutting the omni, but still the extra bodies they provide are complimenting really well Centurion. Banishing your own Synchros to recover them is also great and really similar to WF Runick builds playing Daigusto Emeral to replenish their extra deck. Now about the extra deck. Primera Primus is better than Legatia because we decide the pop and having Oath every turn can be better than a random draw. I play this at 2 (countering Kash Uni as well). Cheng as I said gets outclassed here by Chaos Angel. On the other hand, Ruddy Rose Dragon is a "shifter on demand" that will outright destroy Yubel and FK/Snake followup and an actual win condition similar to going second Protos leaving them with nothing after you break the board. I highly suggest you run it. Finally about Dis Pater, in theory it's amazing for the deck but personally it hasn't helped me enough and I typically summon it in "win more situations". I'm currently experimenting with Arm of Genex, boosting its use thanks to Fuwa (wind) + C (earth) while swapping out the 3rd Imperm for Mourner. A consideration should also be Bagooska as a nasty Zeus pilot, and Zeus itself that can allow great comebacks by hard summoning Typhon and using Zeus on top (to avoid triggering stuff like Flam for example) Alba Los is very viable but not in this build. You can play Horus etc with the minimal Centurion package, then combine them with Fiendsmith to get a Synchro 8 that way and wombo combo. The end board will be Double Blazar + Alba Los (requires Rumble) and Blazar completely ignores it, but it's super win more and completely opposite to why centurion seem good this format. Nice tech with the Sengejin although iirc I was disappointed because the lvl4 millennium monsters cant summon themselves on demand (require an opponent's action) and without running rank 8s I don't get that much value from them. I will definitely try this.
@babrad2 ай бұрын
TLDR; my build has Bald instead of 2nd Druis, Saro instead of 3rd Lub, Bonds and 2nd Phalanx instead of Sengejin at 40. Side has 3rd Nib and Mourner, C, both Churmies, CBTG and Cosmic. The last 3 are a toss between techs but could easily be the lockdowns.

@@babrad I’ve heard in some of the Niagra fire deck profiles that fire decks are dropping fiendsmjth and playing around bystials by shuffling back murcielago on field with hallowed so there’s no target before they get into fire engine Quite a few people suggest the azamina engine is better than the FS stuff and they are just dropping FS but we’d need to wait a bit longer to see how the meta settles Anyhow point being bystials could be less well positioned if this trend continues Ultimately the thing I dislike most is having to draw into specific cards to use them, as opposed to being spoiled by stuff like closed heaven or whatever other generic easy access stuff is out there In a vacuum FS seems pretty solid in centurion but I worry that it will diminish its meta positioning into the broken non engine cards and may not be a net positive
@babrad2 ай бұрын
@@BimYGO Fire Kings don't play Fiendsmiths at all, and some Snake list opt for Impulse instead of Fiendsmith. But shuffling back Murci from the field happens only on above average hands. Bystials give you the option to threaten Silvia through battle, then on MP2 break the board and wipe them with Ruddy, when versus the typical build they wouldn't care because they would have so much followup (deception, sacred, garunix, prom) the match becomes unwinnable even after resolving Cheng/SP. And preventing the board through Fuwa etc isn't always guaranteed, and that's where bystials help you push. About Fiendsmith vs Azamina, the latter is better for the extra decks slots + plays Impulse + already works with Snakes/FK while Fiendsmiths are a simple negate/interruption at the cost of many extra deck slots that could go to Zombie Vampire etc. But Bystials aren't necessarily good exclusively for being DD Crows. The handtrap lineup with Nib/Veiler/Ogre adds a lot of utility and the 4+6 synergy with Atrii and Primera is so good to miss out on it. I've walled FK/SE Azamina with Chaos Angel many times. And if I'm going to miss such key plays I would rather play another deck instead.

I completely agree. I play a heavy Bystial engine in my centur-ion deck (3 lubellion, 1 magna 1 baldrake, 2 druis 2 saro 1 regained) and they're incredibly good in both disrupting plays and giving you an extra body to extend and bait interactions. I'm also finding some success siding etude of the branded as both another way to extend my plays and disruptions (with the extra synchro summoning it gives us) and as a floodgate as it allows me to put my opponent into bad plays by simply sitting on a centur-ion synchro, monsters in the back row and a Bystial. I side 2 as I feel it's not a bad card to draw going first especially if you're able to set it after lubellion grabs regained.

Auxilia only protects your face up spells and traps in the back row not the field spell. However if he has sent centur-ion bonds with wake up then he would have been able to chain it's grave effect to the summon of auxilia and place primera or Trudeau and attempted to pop that instead and protected that instead.

sry this is wrong. this is a sim so like it knows rulings better than 99,9% of all yugi players, and it actually "reads" the cards.... here the auxila clearly says "face-up cards in your spell & Trap zone...." and field zone is NOT spell & trap

If you use Primus pop effect on a face up card on your S/T zone while auxila is on the field Auxila will protect it Also using end times while Have stardust sifr on the field (if you wan to be cheesy) Sifr will protect your cards If you want to be funny you cam run Transcendent dragon with the bystials and Atrii Really funny in tenpai and Yubel match up
@babrad2 ай бұрын
Stand Up was popped because it is protected by your opponent's card effects only while Auxila covers the S/T zones and not the field zone. Sifr is a good answer to boardbreakers but double blazar has the added bonus of dodging Super Poly (garura needs different games) + dodges DRNM + skill drain. Transcendent is indeed funny for Tenpai but if you reach the point of making it and surviving you are already winning.
