Gdansk is the first place I visited in Poland with my boyfriend (who is Polish) and fell in love with Poland and its culture. I've been to Warsaw and Krakow too since then and we are now saving to move from England to Poland. It's scary and the language is sooo hard but your videos make me feel like I could move anywhere and make anywhere feel like home.

Great video Kaja! But for those people - and there are many - who say or think that Gdańsk was German, and still call it Danzig, well, here is a Timeline of Gdańsk and Historical affiliations. As you can see, it BEGAN its existence as Polish, followed by numerous invasions and occupations... Kingdom of Poland 997-1227 Duchy of Pomerelia 1227-1282 Kingdom of Poland 1282-1308 Teutonic Order 1308-1410 Kingdom of Poland 1410-1411 Teutonic Order 1411-1454 Kingdom of Poland 1454-1569 Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth 1569-1793 Kingdom of Prussia 1793-1807 Free City of Danzig 1807-1814 Kingdom of Prussia 1814-1871 German Empire 1871-1918 Weimar Germany 1918-1920 Free City of Danzig 1920-1939 Nazi Germany 1939-1945 People's Republic of Poland 1945-1989 Republic of Poland 1989-present
