Kevin called it: Poor people nowadays are more bougie than the middle-class and more materialistic than the rich/wealthy people. He should consider doing an entire podcast on the subject.
@scocity67233 жыл бұрын
Well, the definition of "bougie" is aspiring to be of a richer economic class than the one you belong to. So, by definition, rich people can't actually be bougie. You don't see wealthy people flexing that much. And when they do, it's not everyday and it's rarely tacky (i.e. Pulling out an exotic car for a special occasion, wearing a lowkey expensive suit for a special occasion.). Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos were known to drive modest older cars. Even Jay Z is less flashy than when he was when he was younger and less rich. When you have money, you don't have to prove to anyone that you got it. But people in the projects to the modest middle class suburbs wearing Gucci, LV, Prada, Versace, Dior and Burberry or hyped up overvalued limited edition streetwear and sneakers head to toe with big logos all over their bodies so people will think they are rich. I can't wait until this cringe social media birthed flex culture gets played out very soon. Imagine living in Texas and not having any power, gas or food stocked during the snowstorm last month, but having a bunch of Gucci, boxes of worn overvalued Jordans, a brand new iPhone and a used money pit of a BMW outside and enough IG followers and likes to please your ego. You learn what really has value real quick when shit gets real and you are deprived of necessities that we all can easily take for granted. And I have a bad feeling people all over the country will be facing similar predicaments in the days, weeks, months and years to come.

100% true My dad's a small M millionaire (7-9 million net worth), and the most extravagant thing he ever did was buy a nice house and a Lexus SUV after busting his ass for decades, putting me and my little sis through college, and always being there for us. He could afford obnoxious stuff, but since he grew up poor in the Middle East he knows the value of money. My sister and I make nearly as much as him annually now and he taught us how to properly save and invest. The most flashy people are often middle class and upper middle class. Even comes into play at my profession. I work on wall street, it's usually the middle class and upper middle class people who splurge their 1st and 2nd year bonuses out of college and end up saving NO money, when they should be saving the most before they really need. I also can't totally blame them, but you're 100% right on that trend.
@joshuaosei83273 жыл бұрын
@@mites7 I'm going to have to disagree here. Everybody flexes just on different scales. Your pops flexed by buying a nice house. Since no one truly needs a big and nice house. It is a luxury. Jeff Bezos flexes with his super yacht, Bill Gates with his tech filled mansion and so on. They're all shows of wealth. This always seems to come down to the demonisation of lower classes. Everything the rich do is seen as righteous and what the other classes do is seen as beneath. I can definitely see why this is the case but we should recognise it for what it is. Humans show off wealth in various different forms. I mean people don't know that Steve Jobs was an avid fan of Issey Miyake and those plain turtle necks he wore were directly commissioned by Issey. Probably fetched a big price tag too. But because it boasts no logos which is associated with what the wealthy tend to behave like. (Do everything to not behave like those viewed as lesser) we see it as millionaires and billionaires being humble etc.

Kevin doesn't agree with partnership marriages either. He believes the wife is inferior and you should consider yourself the leader and therefore better. I suspect you have too much innate respect and love for your wife to consider her inferior to you. He also believes there is only ONE reason for marriage and that is duty. He thinks romantic love is not a necessary component of marriage, it may come in time but truly to him it's irrelevant. He feels the wife is a support figure for the husband, should be totally submissive in his presence and give up her own identity in order to help him achieve his goals , and the most broken concept is she must overlook any infidelity he might indulge in as long as he is discreet and doesn't bring any trouble to the family home. If you listened to this video he thinks "good sexx" is for mistresses, not wives. Frankly I think his idea of a wife is deeply unsexy and akin to a Stepford Wife, a cyborg not allowed to express her own opinions and just there to cook and clean and smile appropriately at functions. Why isn't a high income man allowed a sensual wife, shouldn't it be his wife he looks to for sexual intimacy? ? The marriages he endorses seem to set up to fail. He would consider you a beta male Sir. 😞 I think you are a "better" male. 💜

@Hordy Jones is that an exception to the rule though? I mean, I'm not familiar with that situation as I really don't care at all about celebrity gossip. However, I would guess that the babysitter provided Tiger with what he wanted in a woman. Men typically don't care about what a woman earns. I know I don't and I don't know any that do. If my buddies and I could all afford it, all of our wives and girlfriends would be house spouses. Some of us can afford that while living the standard we want while others can't. It essentially boils down to if she's pretty, nice, and loyal. Edit: to be clear, I meant "wives and girlfriends" as one or the other. We only have one woman who is either a wife or a girlfriend. None have both to my knowledge. Some could and might, I don't know. I try to avoid gossip in general.

I like Honda Civics, Toyota Corollas, and Chevy pickups. I didn't start making over six figures until the last two years. When I was in my late 20s I was making about 30,000 sometimes less. I married a hot little girl next door and kept her in a nice little fixer up in an up and coming neighborhood. Neither of us has ever been into buorgiouse labels. Our veiw on cars is "Does it run reliable?", clothes "Do they make me look presentable and are they adequate for the occasion". My wife would look great in a garbage bag because of her body and facial features, ditto with my two kids. Now I make over six figures and I still own a 1987 Camry that runs like a top. I have other cars of course. I also still prefer to eat at home, drinking Corona with my friends, and watching the ball game on TV. My wife still likes shopping at Walmart and consignment shops. Money will take care of itself if you make an effort to gain a skill set that makes you valuable to others. Money will not take the place of genuine warm affection, sexual attraction, or late nights on the back porch teaching your own kids how to find the big dipper and the North Star.

But you also need to be refined and educated, and graced in the social arts. You are the one who will be tasked with planning and running large parties and events successfully. You will be the one expected to give the proper amounts to the right charities in the name of the "Prince." YOU need to be a certain kind of woman who can raise his value in society. @@WPFreeinternet True...but these days an average person can do the same things as a rich person can. 1. Fine dining: Lots of restaurants are fancy and since lots of broke people exist, the meals are cheap. They want as much customers as possible and can't be afford to be picky (90% go out of business). Plenty of these sites in New York. Plenty of rooftop clubs, free entrance even for guys many of the time. 2. Traveling: Flights have become so cheap especially during certain times of the year (although service can be shit compared to decades ago) that you can get a round-trip ticket to Asian countries like Thailand for $400. Hotels are $10-30 per night. 3. Fun dates: We live on planet earth where there's plenty of fun things to do and see whether it's in the city or in nature. Lots of jazz clubs, concerts, and indie places to enjoy people from all over the world and their talents. Plays, movies, ballet: all affordable now. 4. Getting lots of women: As long as you have game, not boring, have a place to live solo, talking to many people, the average man can get lots of women or just a network to socialize with people 5. Influence : The Internet and social media has evened the playing field to get our opinions and products heard. We can reach thousands of people without being rich. 6. Drugs: lol...even this is accessible for the average man. 7. Comfortable lifestyle: Can do this two ways. A) Combine income with your mate and split costs and get real estate and establish passive income. B) Move to a inexpensive country overseas (my favorite). Someone earning just $1200 can afford a house, a car. In some countries, that's middle class. If you're earning $2000-4000 per month, you're around upper middle class. Lots of women are EASILY accessed at that level. And these women are interesting, funny, submissive, loyal, domesticated, feminine, FIT, outgoing. People will respect you just for the fact of you knowing English in a Native level and will invite you to their homes and socialize. Amazing food over all. Again... I see no difference between a lifestyle of an elite and regular people unless you wanna do some crazy shit like screw 3 women a night on coke. And even then...you can pay GORGEOUS ladies of the night $50-100 overseas whereas "high value people" pay $1000-10,000 per session. 8) Education: Most things can be learned online for free or cheap including university. 2020 taught us this since it forced everyone to stay home.
