Bypass the Bambu Lab Cloud Service

It is easy to bypass Bambu Lab cloud service and run on LAN only, but you have to give up an app...for now.

Your solution doesn't solve the problem. The fact that they encrypt log files should concern everyone and the fact that you can't update firmware with just an sd card is also a problem. So lan only isn't going to be any good unless you want to stay on their current firmware. They clearly don't respect privacy and security. Lan mode is the right idea but if you can't get firmware updates and as you say, use their app, then it's kind of pointless.

I'd like to get a P1S, but I hate the idea that everything goes through the cloud. I may end up buying a Creality K1C just to avoid that even though I'd rather have the P1S.

Umm... how does that WiFi -> LAN change the fact that it's accessing the cloud? cloud's on the internet -> your local area network (LAN) has a router that provides access to the internet for devices within the lan, including your Bambu Labs printer, so you've not changed anything regarding it needing the access or having the access. Or am I missing something obvious here? I mean there are functionalities that you cannot do without the cloud, meaning you HAVE TO use the SD-card if you want to print without the cloud... and that's BS IMHO. I want to be able to add the printer within my Octoprint service just like any other printer and not having any requirement what so ever for any functionality for the cloud... because that cloud will eventually stop working and then your machine is useless or at least less useful... :/

Could you switch over to lan only, send the print to the printer, then switch back to wifi in an attempt to run from the handy app?
