Exactly what I was looking for to determine whether to buy a P1S or X1.

I guess the video is not up to date anymore? Bought an x1c recently and tested generic PETG and changed almost no settings in the slicer except temp of the nozzle and the bed. Did calibration before the print automatically and came out really good. Even without any retraction i got no stringing.

On the A1c when you’ve done your flow calibration, etc. are you unchecking auto dynamic flow before you print so it uses your manually calibrated settings?

You should try print with both values and let us see the results

Just watched you video today. I was wondering what version of Firmware you were on? Thanks

Now you got me paranoid. Gonna spend a day testing my spools.

What were those weird measurements and how did you read them? I have not used manual calibration yet, I have to check mine now!

I use the A1 and manual is the only available mode. Even then some of the results need the eye test to confirm

I’m so happy that I’ve chosen a p1s instead of x1c! Useless lidar and screen shouldn’t cost so much
@chilodaone8 ай бұрын
So lidar is not a big deal then? Im trying to decide whether to buy X1C or P1S, yesterday i had literally typed my CC info to buy the X1C but started looking into really differences to the P1S and doesnt look like600 CAD difference :/
@greenenko8 ай бұрын
I would say yes. It’s intended to calibrate linear advance every time but it’s enough to do this calibration manually once for the same filament & supplier and it will stay always the same… I don’t see any reason to pay extra money for that
@greenenko8 ай бұрын
with my p1s I have perfect 1st layer every time as well. That was at least my own main criteria to choose between p1s and x1c but lidar doesn’t play any role there (as I thought initially it should ) it’s just doing lin adv calibration..

@@chilodaone Bambu Lab printers are so good that even the P1S will print very well without the X1C's Lidar. The Lidar is if you are going for perfection, it will squeeze out that extra 2% of flow related gaps or imperfections that a P1S may have if the flow isn't calibrated right there for whatever reason. It also does first layer detection which is nice, as well as dual bed leveling but I mean, the standard bed leveling is good enough. X1C also has speghetti dectection and unlike other printers, it actually works. You get 1080P timelaspes, the screen, I think the big part cooling fan on the side, the differences are there. But in the end, you are also paying back the R&D that Bambu Lab had to put into making the best printer in the market. P1S will be good enough. I personally own an A1 (I've opted to keep it during the recall and I'm waiting on a new bed) and I want the X1C so I've been saving up for it. Should be able to buy it this week Edit: forgot to mention the hardened extruder gears and nozzle as well!

@@greenenko The Lidar does scan the first layer in every vid that I've seen on it to make sure its good

I do not use the glue stick on the cool plate with PLA. With glue stick I have nothing but adhesion issues :) You do not need it!
@aaronkafes321410 ай бұрын
True, but the glue actually helps release the part and make the plate last longer :)

you have >1 machine; only update ONE machine, test and compare to the other machine. If it's different, roll back to the earlier firmware.

The issue is not LiDar, it is because, you don't have, a means to verify the propreitary sensor data, except to trust 🎋 and keep your 🤞. Welcome to one of the many quirks of a walled garden!❤👍

I usually like to have the latest firmware (on other stuff), but I think I'm going to start waiting until I hear some feedback.
