Helen's brother bought us a red letter day to stay at the New Inn pub in Cropton, North Yorkshire. It included a brewery tour and a three course meal. We also spent the afternoon in Pickering.

We stayed in the cottage next door to your room at the New Inn ( nothing to do with the pub). We couldn’t believe it when we saw where you were staying there. We love Pickering and the NYMR. In fact we love the North York Moors full stop. Don’t know if I’m jumping the gun and you’re going to mention it but you can stay in that pub car park in your camper. Also ( a bit late now) but you should check out the Beck Hole Inn just outside Goathland, it is a tiny pub like nothing I’ve seen before. Looking forward to the next instalment. Now then, cropton brewery is awesome! They do a pint called Yorkshire Blackout which is dynamite on hand pull but it does exactly what it says on the tin and I snore like a bear after a few pints which doesn’t go down well with the missus 😅 Did you read the boards in the restaurant room you were in? Very interesting bits of history. Love Pickering , lots of history, and Harry Potter train station and a castle to boot! 🙌

I enjoyed watching this video. Yorkshire is a beautiful county. It was nice seeing Helen in the video James. I think she cheers you up and brings a smile to your face, so you don’t feel the need when your on your own to rant about things that bother you. I also enjoy the banter and general chit chat between you both and I like hearing your northern accents. I’m a cockney from down south but I just feel northerners as a whole are generally more friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to your next videos.

I bought my man a brewing system 6 times so far. it's definitely a science to it. we got it up to 9 percent. One glass is plenty, hah. The only problem is buying the kits on our island is tough , so we're heading to Anchorage Ak soon to load up on our beer making needs . Can't wait! 🎉

Great vlog James and Helen, if you check Llangollen Railway they have 2 preserved diesel days March and October, could be a good weekend for you both , nice B n Bs there above pubs etc , and homemade pie shop, plus plenty to walk round there especially up the hill end of town is a spooky house with sort of a mini stonehenge which I find very creepy

8:11 I used to teach at a school in Pickering, we used to hear the whistles and steam engines of the trains from the classroom - lovely place, great school. 11:38 Goathland is a pleasant couple of hours out, but unless you’re going for a hike there’s not much happening. In the way to Goathland by car is Beck Hole. Not much there but really beautiful, at the main road just before dipping in to Beck Hole is a flat open piece of land (perfect for a free camp). 15:38 along the route by car from Scarborough and Pickering there’s a small car auctions the feature on a TV programs called Bangers and Cash. In Pickering itself (lever at Bear Bikes) is the road to Dalby Forest where you will find some stunning walks or Hikes as well as cycle routes. 28:18 chips in a cup? In Yorkshire? Nope, I’d feel short changed (or is it just me?) 29:21 Nigella has nothing on Helen. 31:11 ‘get that green stuff out my fridge!’ Do you remember that add - made me chuckle. 33:26 when in Goathland there the oak tree walk just opposite crisps garage where you’ll go past a couple of campsites and is littered with oak trees. It is said there’s an oak tree for each local villager that lost their life in the war (which war I don’t recall though), it’s not a long walk and is very flat. I love your vids as always GI Jayne and of course, not forgetting, the general and look forward to the next.

@@bythecurb​​⁠me too it’s lovely. BUT I’m not sure how I feel about all the ‘Gollywogs’ they sell. They know they should not and so have signs up next to them saying no photography. In ‘Scrips’ garage the chap is a bit grumpy (or has been every time I’ve been at least) and insists on no photos and no videos - everyone ignores him though to be fair. So it’s best to just get on with it and ask for forgiveness after the fact. If you see the chap repairing dry stone walls stop and have a chat he’s quite interesting to talk to as well. Brilliant day at Pickering, it's also worth a visit on their World War 2 day with people dressing up in uniforms and fashions of the day. On that theme, have you and Helen been to Eden Camp World War 2 open air museum, its brilliant James just up your street, its on the way to York. They even have a Naffi !

We love the North Yorkshire Moors. We have caravanned at the club site in Rosedale. You would like it there, no Internet when we were their last, but might be now. Now a question.
