I agree with his statement regarding God knowing he is gay and still loving him. 100 percent God loves him and knew he would be gay probably before Charlie did. I support LGBTQ 100 percent and I know God does too. I hope 100 years from now, there will be no need to “come out” or be afraid of being who you are.

Your comments and belief has given me insight of how I need to remember that member's of the LGBT community are welcomed in the church. My heart goes out to those who have felt less :( valued. Hi Charlie . God bless you for your courage, honesty & faith testimony . God's love, grace & mercy is for everyone who believes & trusts in him (John 3:16) . God created us and wants us to be honest to who we are . God does not make mistakes . As a gay Christian man, I honestly believe there is "greater" eternal purpose for gay men & women to bring glory to His name . Mark (Toronto)

Really sorry about the shame. But his dancing is soo amazing. In these days if you still hold that view towards being gay then you need to get over it. Guess my point is his dancing is such a more interesting story than a few backwards/blind ppl.

As a Mormon it’s not encouraged but you do not get kicked out or turned away from the church.

I wonder what benefit is gained by a Mormon coming out of the closet? Not that there's any particular beneift by remaining in the closet. But still ... ? Why come out? And I say that as a gay BYU graduate from long ago.

It's not a "gray area" at all in fact. It says it's ok to be gay, but you cannot "act on it."

But it's really hard for members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. Although it's more accepted, opening up about anything hard for you personally places you in a really vulnerable position. I'm really glad he did this interview. It also helps people like me better understand why it's hard for them.

Being in gay in a very conservative and Mormon community is courageous ... they hate gays and at most pretend to be tolerant

jss pss - u r so wrong. I’m LDS - I don’t hate & I don’t pretend; neither do my entire community and many that I know outside of it. So please try to get over the stereotypical perception. Just saying. Total respect for this amazing young man. Go Cougars!
@alexlindstrom5555 жыл бұрын
Jss Pss There are some cultural barriers...but there are lots of gay people in the Church. There are even gay people who support the Church and it’s teachings on the definition of marriage and sexual behavior. I mean literally no one has ever told me that I can’t love a man. After all...love is love, right? In fact, I’m commanded to love my fellow men. I know people usually bring up the fact that I’m discouraged from sexual relations and from actually being married to a man, but what in that constitutes hatred of gay people?

I'm sorry, but as a Christian myself, didn't Adam and Eve eat the apple and gained wisdom/free will. Thus human decendants obtained the free will to make their own decisions. I am a woman married to a man. And I hope my children follow that route as I personally do not believe in it, however I will still love them no matter what. And I do have gay/lesbian friends. And I don't believe in pushing my beliefs on anyone else. But if anyone has any questions that want to talk that's different.
@Elena-kp8bn4 жыл бұрын
Don't ever say "I have gay friends, I can't be homophobic". That's literally the dumbest thing to say, as a gay person myself I've had homophobic friends.

The story of Adam & Eve is an allegory. They weren’t real people. We’re all made in God’s image, including LGBTQ people.

@brendanaomi2044 жыл бұрын
@@suvariboy how do you know that they were not real? You were not alive at the time. Where do you base the existence of God from? I wish y'all would stop placing God in this LGBTQ topic. Homosexuality is and has always been a sinful behavior. Sin and Christianity are incompatible. While we all sin, only the LGBTQ+ community believe it is possible to embrace sin and take "pride" in it. Squinting your eyes while reading God's commandments and finding loopholes in the gospel is merely the guise of Satan tempting the faithful away from the path of righteousness.
