I must add this lecture adds too the great expectation we have of meeting the prophet and commune with him through out the eternities.

I’ve been listening to these seminars for 30-years, there’s no better overall source of detailed information on the Prophet Joseph Smith. Truman Madsen is phenomenal.

I was blessed to have Truman Madsen as a Professor when I attended BYU in the early 80s. He was always a wonderful professor and lecturer, and great human being.

This lecture brought tears to my eyes and heart for Brother Joseph. I can only imagine in my heart what it will be like to be before the Savior Himself and to hear Him laugh, watch Him smile and love those who find Him.

Nice to see you again, Brother Madsen. Met you when stationed in Germany; still uttering inspiring words. (I was a new-be then, I am an old-be now). It has been a remarkable journey since then, hasn't it? (My home library has everything Joseph, including a bust that was given to me because it was a graven image that they wanted to get out of their house.) LOL I don't worship any idol including graven images of humans we idolize. I use it as a bookend for videos and books that pertain to Joseph. You inspired me then and you still do so now.

I enjoyed Part II of this as much as Part I. Truman Madsen was a great scholar. "You don't have to brae like a jackass..." The more I learn about Joseph Smith, Jr., the more I appreciate his character and personality. Could you imagine him and J. Golden Kimball's heavenly reunion. Oh, for that matter, let's add LeGrand Richards to that reunion. They'd have everyone in stitches. All three men were great testifiers of Jesus Christ.

I’m so thankful to know his name after I was already in the MTC for my first time so I read the discussions and went in prayer and received the spirit that HE IS AND WAS GODS PROPHET. 1980 February. I had a testimony of the Book of Mormon at age 17 but it was the Lord who led me to serve

Why is the written text different from what Brother Madsen said?
@cudatom92902 жыл бұрын
Why are the close captions different than the speech? There are a lot of synonyms not mispronunciations'. This is unusual to me.
@byuspeeches2 жыл бұрын
We're not exactly sure why the subtitles are different. I do know that we have to put everything in by hand, so it's very likely that the one typing up the entire talk did that. It's possible that the written and spoken version of this was different, but it's also just as likely that the speech was edited slightly. Sorry about that.
