You have the best channel. I thought there weren’t many people interested in JDM tools, especially driver bits and bit adapters. Love your channel

I appreciate you trawling the depths of Amazon Japan to make us aware of all this cool stuff. You inspired me to go searching for JDM tools when I needed a new adjustable wrench. I ended up buying a 6" Lobtex and it is the best adjustable I've ever used. Thanks.

You introduced me to Amazon Japan which just saved me $150 on battery power tools. Not only were they cheaper but I’m sure they’ll be higher quality. I wish I would’ve bought a Japanese hammer drill, and maybe a Japanese impact. Not sure if the JDM tools can hold American bits very well though.

I've had great luck with the Hikoki double ended torsion bits, but they only come in JIS. They last a good 6 months under frequent use staying very straight and secure with little to no damage to the head.

Question: could the issues you had with the bits be due to jis vs Philips? Japan is largely moving away from his screws so the bits might perform better in a Philips

Brilliant and interesting video which answers many of my questions relating to my recent Amazon Japan orders. Why they don't set a standard impact 1/4 chuck is beyond me, all about money I guess

Also worth mentioning the bit spacer part that Makita sells that fits in the JDM collet to make it fit ISO bits without slop.

@@BZEUG just cut the 4mm end off of an old bit and toss it in the Chuck and then you can use us standard bits and if you want the spacer out simply pull bit out and while having Chuck pulled out one shake downwards and she will come right out

I think I saw you compare the Centrotec anvil to the JDM ones and that there's a few mm difference. Yeah? What bit holder would you suggest for a JDM Makita impact-so the holder's anvil is like the Vessel extended anvils-that can *receive* American market E6 anvils?
@BZEUG

I have not found an adapter that does that. I think the manufactures just don't see it as something worth doing.

These weird tip designs look kinda like draft ideas. Like they should be testing them and figuring out which ones work and only selling them, not selling every single variation :)

Do the C/E-6 bits work in the Japanese Makita ”chuck”?
@BZEUG
@BZEUG 2 жыл бұрын
They fit and they lock, BUT when downforce is put on them they jam farther into the chuck until they bottom out which is past the lock detent. So I don't use E6 or C6 in the JDM Makita. I just use the JDM bits in that impact.

Is there a practical reason for reviewing and using cross bits and screws instead of torx ones?
@BZEUG

Does the double-tip Vessel fit in the US Makita? The Makita, (UK, DTD171) that I`ve has got a deeper hole in the middle, where the tip could sit.

You need to talk to a Japanese contractor or carpenter. Assuming using Japanese bits on American screws and American style drilling may not be the best test or comparison. You can be doing stuff that is completely different than their standard construction practices.
