C152 Gusty Crosswind go around - Landing Attempt - Old Buckenham Airfield

This video is from the end / landing of a cross country, trying to land on ruway 25 at Old Buckenham Airfield in a slight cross wind.
In the end the wind (see wind sock) was favouring runway 07 which is the direction / runway landed on, on the next landing attempt.
It was a combination of the increased ground speed caused by the slight tail wind, the gusting and being slightly higher than ideal which is way the decision to go around was implemented.

Quick question... In hindsight, did you begin taking out flaps too soon or is that standard in the 172?

At the time of this reply im currently only a student pilot and this is how I have been trained, this example is not to be used without prior Instructor training and checking POH etc: On a “go around” the procedure is to remove the “Drag Flaps” after applying full power. The drag flap is the first 10 degrees, reducing the 30 degrees to 20 degrees to enable the plane to climb, set carb heat to cold, then at or above 300 feet AGL you can remove the next stage of flaps ensuring positive rate of climb before removing the last 10 degrees.

@@CarbonCopyAviation I would have only use one notch of flaps, but I have also have more experience. The 152, depending on the configuration, can have a lot of drag with flaps. You definitely do not need it in gusty winds or landing most of the time. That is why I hate the standard flaps on downwind, base, final. It does not apply to all applications or aircraft.
