Very nice. I was just wondering about the attaching and doing a new color block on your gingham or just plain c2c join blanket. Have you ever thought about joining with a chain 1 or 2 then starting to make a fancy little star like join as if all your squares were completed then joining them ? Was just curious. Im trying to picture it in my mind how to do it. 😊

Amazing video!! But I would like to ask a question because I really don't know what to do and I was hoping you could help me, pleaseee😭 Context: I'm working on my first crochet project ever: a blanket using c2c. Now, when I made the chart, I thought the length was going to be of a good size because it looked "good" on the chart. Halfway through, I realized it was going to be shorter than I needed it to be, so I added more rows at the end, easy. But it has a design that it's supposed to be centered and with the extra rows at the end, it now looks weird. So now that I've finished it, I've been looking for a way to add length at the "start" of the blanket and I tried the method you teach in your video, but after completing some rows, I realized that the little spaces that look like a "(" between the tiles were going in the opposite direction than the rest of the blanket because I'm starting basically upside down. I'm wondering if there's a way to add length to the blanket at the side I need using this method? Or perhaps, if I crochet the other section separately, is there a way to join it to the rest of the project once it's finished without having to treat it like a crochet block? It's just that I would like it to look as pretty and seamlessly as yours in both sides than how it would look if I stitch it like a block (Hope this makes sense, I'm so sorry)

I see what you mean but I’m having a hard time picturing a successful solution for you. Is the direction of the ( That noticeable? I know it’s a pet peeve of mine as well but maybe it’s not that noticeable when you look at it over all. You might be able to just join the extra segment with a a little strand of yarn in the same join areas as the rest of the blanket. It would be tedious but if it might make it look more cohesive. You would just attach with a tapestry needle , no crochet hook involved. I’d recommend making a test strip of 2 or 3 squares and then joining them that way see what happens. 💕 Keep me posted .

@@PlayHookywithMe Thank you for the reply!! Well, I didn't notice at first that the direction was wrong, but after I did realize, I could not unsee it. I asked other people if they saw something weird with the blanket, and they only mentioned being able to kind of see the line where both sections unite. I'm not sure if it's normal or if the line is easy to notice because the ( don't blend with the rest. After reading your reply, I'm thinking about just continue with the method you taught me in your video and just learn from my mistakes with this 1st project. Can't wait to start my new blanket😃

It's a great tutorial, love the pattern. However😊 I'm left handed and struggling to join the squares, I think I need to reverse the way it's done?? It's giving me a headache😕 when I do the starting chain of the 2nd square to join I'm facing inwards so I guess I need to turn the first square and work left to right?? 😱

Hi I love the tutorials you make, very helpful I do have a question on the Modern c2c version decreasing, I do not want to slip stitch I like the chain version, so do I chain 3 on the decreasing rows but continue to chain 2 when creating the next tile?
@PlayHookywithMe
@PlayHookywithMe 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Either way would be fine since you are still trying to cross over 3 stitches … but I would recommend that you try a chain 2 to see if it gives you a tighter appearance without making it too tight if you know what I mean. Some crocheters find the ch 3 makes it too gappy (with the classic and modern). Choose what looks best to you with the yarn and hook you’re using 🧶💕

@PlayHookywithMe
@PlayHookywithMe 3 жыл бұрын
No, you didn’t miss anything . It’s not necessary to create a chn 6 because we already have existing sides that we are working into. So it’s almost like we are always making center blocks. Remember , chn 6 is only when we need to create an edge.

Can someone tell me maybe why my blocks look a little crooked? I feel like I'm doing everything the right way, but some of my blocks look crooked..it's driving me nuts! Lol
@2ajungle2
@2ajungle2 3 жыл бұрын
I had the same issue and changed a few things. I use the 5/2 method, watch your slack in your chain 5 or 6 or if you are making it too tight. I was making my chains too tight. It can really make a difference to your piece. Also if you slip stitch instead of the chain three method it can make it look crooked in my option. One other thing I do is make the last stitch in each tile an HDC. So I would slip stitch, chain two, then 2 DC and then 1 HDC. The HDC will cause it to tilt in the opposite direction. Hope some of these might help. That is the great thing about crochet, you can change things around to fit your own tension and style. Good Luck!!
