Side pieces over header piece. Also, replacement windshields are thinner to save weight. Use a hard rubber block and set it into urethane to get right height. Stainless should touch the glass on sides and top to look original. If you still have a piece of the old glass, you can measure the difference in thickness as a starting point.

Unfortunately, I chucked the old glass and header. I’ve since learned that saving ALL parts that carry measurement detail is a great idea, until the build is done.

Not sure if this will help. I checked my 73 coupe. The trim looks very similar. Top trim then the side. The little indent goes over the upper trim. Can send a pic is you like

I hope u haven't glue the windshield because on my 82 u have have the corner pieces in and screwed tight cause once the windshield is in u can't get the screws in it .

Yes, see my later “install” videos. Good reminder though - It’s probably easy to forget to screw in the header trim before the glass.

Top piece first and then the sides only because I did not get the top off.

I think your glass will sit out a lot more with the seal in there. I think it’ll be alright. I see you have clips at the bottom to sit the glass on, I don’t have those, are all cars suppose to have them?

I looked it up and yes, there are 9 clips to hold the small trim. I should have done more research before making the video. It’s been a while since I took it apart. Thanks

You mean the small supports on each side? I assume all similar C3s have them. They definitely make it easier to get the glass to sit right.

Here is a person that shows, how to install the windshield. Study the windshield frame and you will see, what needs to be done on yours. You will also see how the stainless is installed. Good Luck, Doug kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmengGCGls1_lbc
