Thanks for this, going to attempt it this week. Another reason for me to hate this car with a passion, it'll be the last Citroen I buy. Everything I need to do seems to be deliberately designed to make easy jobs difficult and expensive so you take it into a dealership for even the most basic work.

I only had two citroens and that was due to convenience as the dealer was close by. I learned never to get cars that don't have decent cup holders because of Citroen. Also the suspension is horrible as are the rear wheel sensors. The wheels tend to get frozen a lot in winter. I wish it were just a one car issue but the same issues have come across 3 citroens. My two and my in laws . I've had a c4, now a c4 grand Picasso and they have a c5. Garbage , all of them. Engines are about all they got going for them.

Thanks so much for this video - saved me a heap in labour costs! One thing I found which may help people with a 2008 Grand Picasso is that instead of having to remove the air intake pipe I just unscrewed the air filter cover and tied it off to the side with a bungy cord. Seemed much easier. Also removing the plastic battery cover was a bit of an effort. Gave it a yank up and out with a mini crowbar in the end and it came free. Hope this helps someone.

That will depend on wither it's a 1600 HDi or 2000 Hdi, the car in video appears to be a 1600 HDi which has the air filter at the back of the engine

Just swapped out the battery on our 2011 C4 and this video was invaluable. Thank you!

This video was both excellent and depressing at the same time given the amount of steps this car requires, makes me lose all motivation to change it hahaha

Thanks for the video, have changed many a batt but never had to disconnect a fuse box from the batt cover before. Oh well got there in the end thanks to your excellent vid. Cheers

What kind of designer, engineer and production manager would allow such design?

Thanks for that - just did it in about 15 mins. Quick note, no need to remove the air intake hose at the front - dead easy to disconnect the bayonet fitting where it joins the engine inlet and then just remove the 10mm bolt holding the inlet plate in place. Also didn't need to disconnect the loom nor the positive lead - they just tuck out of the way. Battery cover was a bit stubborn, needed a couple of gentle taps with a rubber mallet and then the hook end of a crowbar behind to gently get it moving .

You must have made a pack with the devil because nothing went smooth for me. Granted it's freezing but all in all it took me a couple hours and the battery cover couldn't be removed without disconnecting the positive and the fuse holder. So many things were in the way.

Great help thanks. I have a 2012 Picasso and have just done the second change. First one was finger in the wind. Biggest problem is manoeuvring the cable block that covers the battery, and then the weight of the battery.

Thank you so much for this video, absolutely spot on instructions. Couldn't have done it without you. Took about 90 minutes, slowly and carefully, and some of the bolts needed a lot of encouragement to loosen!! Thanks again.

Well, I did it. Only required a couple bloodied knuckles. I didn't bother removing the air intake. I did have to remove the wiring harness cover and that was a pain to put back in. There was one wire that kept finding it's way to being a pain in the butt. The fuse box cable you unbolt. It kept snaking it's way back and making it hard to take the fuses off or it'd just be under so it'd be hard to put the fuses back on. Oh and I got hopeful as I just put the new battery in and bolted on the negative clamp then proceeded to put the plastic cover on. So happy was I. Continued to put the fuse box back and harness the cables before realizing I forgot to plug the negative terminal in! It wouldn't be half as bad but the fuse box snap at the bottom was stubborn as all get out. Knuckled got rapped when I was trying to unbolt the negative terminal. That was fun because of how cold it is. Not sure how the pinky got cut up. I do know quite a few swedes got to hear how bad Americans can cuss.

** GREAT ** step by step video, VERY useful, I have NOT done this yet, but it is looking like I will very soon, so: Do the electrics need any special treatment after the reconnections with new battery are finished, i.e. will the car just work/start as normal, or do you have to wait a given time, etc. Also, will it cause a problem if I leave the car without any battery for a period, hours, days weeks??? Thank You
