What a time to be alive! On previous versions I had to make very intricate setups with duplicated meshes as cloth belts. Non of them were generators of course. And now voila you have it with two clicks!

Have you tried using cloth tear along with this technique? I put my cloth tag directly on the generator the same way you did in this video and I checked cloth tear. When I hit play, the faces of the cloth sim went crazy and all over the place. Very similar to the way a cloth tear sim does when it's not under a cloth surface object.

Thanks for posting this! How come my cloth tag properties looks different from yours? I don't have all those extra tabs you have. Mix Animations, Soft Body, etc.. I think I'm on the same C4D release as you.

I tried my best to copy this setup exactly and the Vertex Map tag won't apply. Anybody know why? Is this just a bug?

It's because I was using R26 and not 2023. Woops!
