Really look forward to the uploads and I have no doubts. You will hit 60,000 soon. This channel is a treasure, and I am so blessed to have found it after buying my C5. My first Corvette. Thank you, Lyle and team!!!

I knew mine were bad , looks like just the rear . Someone changed the front. Went with the Moog. Damn!! What a difference !! 1998 base model.. love it!! Wanted one for year abc bought one in Aug.. went from Harleys to vettes. Long time admirer of vettes after a drove my brothers 1979 L82 vette. I will have one of those one day too. Great channel!

The reason for the "rattle" from the sway bar end links and ball joints is due to a "steel ball and a plastic cup" in both these suspension parts. Without having a way to replace the grease in the factory parts they need to be replaced with better parts preferably ones that can be lubed at regular intervals. GM changed the design in 04 C5'S and all C6'S and beyond. Moog is a trusted name that's been around forever. It's getting harder to buy quality parts in the aftermarket so be careful when selecting the new suspension parts for your C5.

When I got my 99 FRC last April I had emailed you pics of the OEM ones and they were worn to shit. Earlier this year i had them replaced with the Moog ones you showed and what a difference. Literally night and day. The car hugs the road with very little body lean in the twisties. Even at low speeds and going over dips I can feel how solid the car feels. Worth every penny

Did mine when I 1st bought my 03 a few years ago. That, the swap bar bushings and replaced the diff fluid while I was down there.

first mod I did to my 2001 C5 was C6 z51 sway bars and metal end links. Made a night and day difference.

These were the first things I replaced on my C5 ( Car was 5 years old when I bought it ) as well as upgrading to Z06 sway bars and C6 Z06 shocks. The handling improvements were like night and day. When I saw the plastic parts I knew they had to go!

Just did all 4 of these on my 03 z06. Rockauto has GM ones for $28,dealership wanted $70 eeeeks. Every single one of them had ripped and dried out boots. My guess is they were the originals from 20 years ago.

Love the videos! They have been more than helpful in purchasing and owning my C5 for the first year. I've been eyeing the aFe Johnny O"Connell sway bars and it looks like I can save a bunch of money if I use the C6 links. Is there any reason I couldn't use the C6 links with the aFe sway bar? I would think they would last longer than the spherical end links as well.

hard to forget a name like the flying dentist once you learn about the guy. superior drivers were the reason cobra's won races back in the day because the primitive English suspensions were antiquated compared to competitors like the vette. one can even look up percentage of road racing advantage tables ranking the advantage of equipment verses how the same percentage of advantage a driver makes towards winning. it takes a heck of an equipment advantage to overcome even a moderate driver advantage, once winning percentages are calculated. As always, I appreciate advice from a knowledgable source with actual working experience with the parts. I never want to be poorly informed about my best stewardship path, and without the heads up would have bypassed a Dorman part. I think my links have already been replaced by the looks of things, but will double check.

Lately I left hard at the light and it wheel bounce pretty hard and ever since it feels like when driving normally and push the pedal to go faster there's a feeling like the car drive side way for a moment not to sure how to explain it ? I drive a c5 z06 with very low miles.. Any idea thx in advance.

When to deferent local mechanics and they all say nothing wrong car as only 12 000miles
@csvette6 ай бұрын
@@dannyhebert704 The answer is to change out one of the axle shafts to a different thickness. It doesn't have to be much different, but that changes the stick/slip frequency that identical shafts share. This is what GM did in the C6 to solve the wheel-hop issues in the C5. You may also want to look hard at the rear tie rod ends to see if they are worn and shifting under a load. Lyle
@dannyhebert7046 ай бұрын
Thank you for answering my ? . I tought is was the rear torsion bar ,so you think I have a bend shaft so that's why no mechanic could find anything broken
@csvette6 ай бұрын
@@dannyhebert704 It isn't that your axle shaft is bent...it is that the axles from the factory were identical side-to-side...so they would stick and slip at the same rate under hard acceleration, giving you wheel hop. The solution is to change one of the axles (usually the passenger side) to a slightly different diameter or density shaft. Lyle

??? My 02 Vert has /came with the aluminum links. bought it new the summer of 02 so not changed.
@csvette6 ай бұрын
Andy, that is weird, but not unheard of. some cars in '02/03/04 had those installed, while others got the plastic fantastics. No rhyme or reason to it that I can see. If anyone know that answer, please chime in! Lyle

@@csvette Thanks Lyle, While I was watching your video, I thought maybe it had something to do with the "Z51" option but mine is not so equipped. Great content as always Lyle.

Hey Lyle, I just went to the "Black Book" and here's what it said..."Front stabilizer links were changed from rolled rod steel to aluminum for weight savings. Intended for Z51 or FE4 (Z06) suspensions, the links were used on all 2002 models for assembly consistency". Thanks Lyle, this has not been a criticism. I never miss your You Tubes even if it's not C5 stuff. 👍👍👍

@@andytaylor5712 Huh. i learn something new everyday, even after all these years! My '03 had the plastic stuff on it, and I bought it from the original owner...no idea why they would have had the old style on the Z06... Thank you for the heads-up! Lyle

Hello I have a 1990 c4 and the climate control module has no power at all. Is there a way to get a quote on a diagnostic for that?
@csvette6 ай бұрын
Sam, no one can quote electronics diagnosis up front...there is no way to know how much time will be involved to locate and resolve the issue(s). You can absolutely count on a minimum of two hours, but it could run a lot more. Lyle
