Never been a huge vette fan, but I’ve always wanted a c5 Z06. Something about the style, looks, last gen for the pop up headlights… pure nostalgia. And out of all the years, I still think this sounds best!

I have the same headers on my 2003 z06 but with an airaid intake, changing mufflers to B&B prts in the spring then getting a tune. Good luck with yours, great cars.

Thanks! I used an Olympus ME-51S Stereo Microphone with a Movo WS1 Windscreen Muff mounted just below my license plate.

@@chrishisted1851 Yes, there are other autox videos on my channel with this setup- only from the driver rear 3-quarter view with the same mic in the trunk. For those autoX vids, the mic is in the trunk area with a hatchcover over it so it's a bit muffled but still sounds decent

You actually got the Vararam to fit cleanly and correctly? I heard the fit, finish and quality of those is absolute junk.

Golden Manuever Yup, mine looked really nice after installation. It was a little more of a pain in the ass because it comes with a few extra parts to duct the air to the filter. Everything worked out fine though!

@@Livingwater1994 When I bought my car in 2013, it came with the Vararam so I can't speak to install. I find checking the filter a bit finicky but of all the intakes this one seems to make the most power and sounds good!

SCOOBYTRAP1 I love my vararam. With the long tube headers it’s a little harder to hear, but you can hear it suck in the air on my 03 Z. Yeah, you have to clean it a little more often, but I think it’s worth it in my opinion. Makes good power compared to other intake systems.

If you want a sound similar to this definitely go X-pipe. It’ll also make a little more power over an H-pipe as well.

X pipe overall is better made 400hp just headers,intake x straight pipe and it’s an auto C5

I also have Vararam Intake and was custom tuned at New Era Performance. It definitely runs strong and have been really happy with it as is for 4 yrs, but now looking to put alittle more power in it now. Consider these as baseline runs : )

How well do c5 handle? Do they like to fishtail? I'm saving up to get one. I had a 280whp car (genesis) so this Is going to be a whole new beast!! Ima have to be gentle with her and learn to tame her lol.

Handling can be tailored w alignment. Overall it is neutral, then stability control will kick in. Turn it off or use “completion mode” and you can really test ur driving limits of grip and skills. It’s a 400+HP RWD car and will fishtail if you want or do something dumb. Drive w respect and u will learn and be faster for it

Are you looking at a base or z06. The z06 has very neutral steering and is a great chassis to build onto. The coupe is still very good but not as rigid/ race car focused. The base would be similar to your old car in power at the crank
