Nice video. The Z51 package will have the coolant lines for the 6 speed manual. Make sure others order the correct radiator based on your options. Also with the lower rad support out you can easily pull the rad from the bottom as well.

Where did you buy the radiator core support from ?

Would this be the same setup needed on a C5? How much are you invested into the radiator? Did you stay stock fans or replace those too?

What is the highest coolant temperature have you seen after installing the new rad? By the way your rad looks amazing 👌

Sorry for the late reply! and thank you! So far the highest temp I have seen was yesterday and it got up to 216 degrees but that was in stop and go traffic and 109 degrees outside temp. It usually sits around 205 when cruising through town in 100 plus degree weather. I also haven't messed with the fans at all, once I get them to come on at a lower temp I bet it will run even cooler.

is there a significant difference between the new radiator support and the original material. Mine broke and i got one from a junk yard then that one also broke since i have a 3 Row radiator. If you could drop the link where you got your rad support that would be awesome! Great video.

I'm curious. I get a squeek on my car and I'm thinking it's the tensioner because it goes away most of the time. Did your water pump make any strange noises at all? I'm halfway tempted to just throw on a new tensioner, water pump, belt, all hoses and just be done with it.

Kinda sounds like tensioner to me as well, especially if the squeak goes away as after rpm’s are raised. My water pump didn’t squeak but if you think it might be your water pump, check the front of the pump right under the pulley for any antifreeze, if coolant is coming out of the weep hole it was start to make the pump squeak at times. At least that’s how it was with my truck. Depending on miles and age of the car it wouldn’t be a bad idea to replace all of that. Plus good peace of mind knowing it’s all new.

@@MitchCarveth I agree....I'm sure it's the tensioner. It's an 05 Cadillac XLR with 118k on the odo....I quit driving it 7 years ago and I'm now getting it back on the road again for some fun so I'm trying to do as much preventative, hoses/belts, fluids/filters, as possible and get it over with. Thanks for the response.
