why didnt you add the additive when you replaced the oil ? On the manual there's mention of the oil and a LSD Additive...

Hey, loved the video...I'm a proud owner on a 2011 C6 Base model LT3 trim, manual transmission., I purchased it in May 2024, with 27K miles. Although my first Vette, I am however, the 3rd owner. Now the car is very clean and rides great, but I have no record of any maintenance. For starters I've done oil changes, replaced air filters replaced wipers, rotated the tires, I replaced Front rotors and brake pads, rear pads were also replaced, I've checked all fluids and so on. It now has 32K miles, should I change the differential fluid at this time. Also, the procedure you described does it apply to the 2011 C6.... Thank you for the video and look forward in hearing your thoughts.

Cutting off a little off the other end of the Allen wrench would have worked better. You can use it again later, rather than have a stub. 😷👍

No slip lock additive? If you reverse and hear clunking. It's just the clutch packs. Change your diff oil. (these cars are gettin 20 years old, change all fluids) Also Once the differential fluid has been changed, the vehicle must be driven in 8-10 tight figure eight maneuvers to heat the fluid and allow the fluid to be worked into the clutch plates.
@SeanChristian-c5x7 ай бұрын
You transpose the dextron fluid part number when you say it. The last two numbers are 34 not 43.

Hey Scott so I’m basically down to making my final decision on the corbeau racing seats for my 04 C5. But I was just curious for the C5 did you need any harness or anything to prevent having any lights show on the dash due to the electronics in the original seats after installing the corbeau’s. Just curious and I hope that makes sense. Thanks
@Team5124 жыл бұрын
I did not need any type of harness to prevent lights on the dash. I have a ‘99. I’m pretty sure this holds true for all C5’s.

I just did this on my 06 C6 and it was a straight shot to the drain plug with my ratchet and allen head socket. They must have moved it. My issue was getting to the FILL PLUG! My exhaust was in the way, so the same trick of cutting the allen wrench to make a stubby worked like a charm!
@robertgossas3711 Жыл бұрын
If you dont want the hazzle to open the drain plug you use a oilchange pump and suck it through the fill hole. just make sure that the hose is at the bottom of the "pan". peace Corvette lovers :)
@petercarey68834 жыл бұрын
This question is directed specifically toward the drain plug, but let's ask it for both the drain and fill plugs? Would you ever use never-seize on them? While you were working on the "gorilla tightened" drain plug, I kept wondering, boy, what would I do if I stripped/rounded off the hex key indent?😱 Yeah, then it goes to, I guess I'm dropping the leaf spring to drill that sucker out.😢 I would NOT be a happy camper. But first I need a beer, or three.😉 Save the Wave🙋🏼♂️
@Team5124 жыл бұрын
Good question PC. My approach is to properly torque the drain plugs so that anti-seize is not needed. But, the video would have been much more entertaining if I had to drill that plug out...

I would never support the GM brand after owning a C6 corvette. The engineering on this car is pathetic! The split gas tanks needing to remove the transmission and exhaust just to change or fix a leaking fuel pump. Every little thing I do on this car is a quagmire and leads to having to remove and or replace ten other things. I had to remove the water pump and everything else in front of the engine just to get to the Camshaft sensor and needed to create my own puller to pul it out as it was stuck in there and took great force to remove it. It is ridiculous how pathetic the engineers at GM are. They are the kid in kindergatrten who was hellbent on trying to stick the square block in the round hole. I wish there was a site where we could tell all the different engineers as well as marketers who package everything to make it a big job to open a damn package. i would just love to inform them all of how much I can't stand them or their profession as they are complete idiots who just can't stop trying to reinvent the wheel because they are too stupid to be innovative and do anything right.
