Again your attention to detail on your engine rebuild is equal to or better than some OEM and aftermarket builders. Sometimes a noise just sticks in your craw and you can't let it go, just don't feel quite right. Great Friday video!

I thought I heard a strange noise. I had to search the videos to discover that you had to pull the engine again to do an "exploratory surgery" video. I'm glad you go with your gut. It's rough sometimes making the decision to find your own mistake. But it shows that if you can find your mistake and own it, it makes you better at finding someone else's mistake. My hat goes off to you. Keep up the precision, high quality work that both of you do as a team.

Clint, nothing you do with your sons and crew bore us subs. We'd watch you just working on a lawn mower engine. The only reason I'm watching this two days late is my Bebita Wife Maria and I was helping an 83 yeard friend of ours sort, give away, donate and pack up her duplex apartment to move up to Hendersonville North Carolina to live with her son. She just finally retired last year and rents have increased ridiculously way over what they should be. So I got a lot of catching up to do here on facebook channels I watch.

They're a dead seriously top of the heap bunch of professionals there..absolutely facinating how they have seperate shops for every stage of rebuilding units from strip down to cleaning to rebuild, paint and testing. They gotta have several millions of dollars worth of specialty equipment to do things the absolutely best way possible with people who are top of their profession level.

Possible piston pin retainer snap ring unseated, thought maybe the coupling had looseness, I don't know, not a rod sound or piston slap more piston pin double knock and it's too fast for valve train. I thought the coupling had a hard rubber zero clearance spacer that went in between the fingers or was just a zero clearance machined surface. I've seen those couplings before, but between an engine and an outdrive on big i/o units with 1500 horse power set ups, never worked on dozers just cars and boats. Had a broken crankshaft that sounded like that, it broke uneven so it had a piece like a key that allowed it to turn together, but just remembered a bolt in the combustion chamber sounds like that too. God Bless you, you need them.
