@pierobg9843 I am very happy to hear that. This was my intention, to show this beautiful railways to the world..not anyone can travel and see all those journeys in person. Sometimes they help us to decide which real trip we will take...
@wladislaw793 күн бұрын
We are flattered by this beautiful journey! I thought it was the Giselabahn again but instead it follows the Unterinntalbahn and then the Maximilian-Bayerisch Bahn to finally arrive in Salzburg. I don't know if it's just the Rosenheim - Salzburg section which is an old line, but the stations are old and the grass is growing in the middle of the tracks. I see that in Freilassing they have raised the sidewalks. In Austria the line runs between the Karwendel Mountains and the Inn River and you can see the Kufstein Fortress and as if by magic the landscape changes as soon as you cross the border as well as the weather! It starts to rain! Beautiful line with the Taurus and the Railjet. I noticed that there are the first and second generation Railjets: what's the difference between the two? The entrance to Salzburg Hbf is spectacular: the station with the new shelters now seems to fly in the sky! Excellent as always!
@ZvonimirZelenika16 сағат бұрын
Easiest visual difference is that second generation Railjets have cab shaped like Siemens Vectron locomotives, while original ones are shaped like Taurus locomotives. There is quite a lot of difference in the interior, with new Railjet 2 having more low-floor sections (look at position of windows) and quite different internal layout. I am honestly not a fan of going up/down in each car, they should have just had one/two low-floor cars for accessibility like new Nightjets but they build the whole train with each but cab car with low-floor sections. They are also not in full service as push-pull operations hasn't yet been approved/certified and now You'll see a locomotive (often a Taurus and not a Vectron) pulling the new Railjet 2 by the cab car - You can see this situation oat cca 46:58 - Taurus is not in push-pull configuration, but it's pulling the Railjet 2 set by the cab car. You can find some more info on new Railjet 2 on KZbin, people have been giving them good and bad reviews.

- Another very interesting journey from Austria via Germany to Austria in the usual excellent quality. The DB Maximiliansbahn is shorter than the Giselabahn, which is why most trains between Wörgl and Salzburg (and vice versa) run there and not on the ÖBB Gisela mountain railway with many bends and gradients. Unfortunately, the Maximiliansbahn is in relatively poor condition, which is why it often has to be closed for repair work (during this time all trains run on the Giselabahn (which bears the name of a daughter of Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary and his wife Elisabeth ["Sisi"], Archduchess Gisela Louise Marie of Austria). Unfortunately, this means that our train, the ÖBB RailJet Express (RJX) 869 from Bregenz via Innsbruck, Wörgl, Salzburg, Linz and Vienna to Vienna Schwechat Airport, which was on time to the minute as far as Wörgl and Kufstein, is delayed by almost 10 minutes on the German section of the route.

Thanks for the video. How weird is it that an austrian train, in order to reach an austrian city to another has to cross into germany without even stopping in germany? 😄
@montgomeryscott16568 күн бұрын
- Precisely because it is a purely Austrian train, it does not stop in Germany. It only travels this route because the inner Austrian route (ÖBB Giselabahn from Wörgl to Salzburg) is much longer and because it is a mountain railway with many curves and gradients that is (still) slower to travel than the DB Maximiliansbahn. In any case, the fare is calculated via the Giselabahn, even if the train takes the "shortcut" via Rosenheim. If the Maximiliansbahn is closed, which happens very often (for half a year in 2027!), all trains travel via the Giselabahn anyway.
@wolfgangkarlwieser79156 күн бұрын

@ZvonimirZelenika7 күн бұрын
Camera is placed on the outside which has benefits as that You get much better recording as You don't get glare and reflection from the glass plus bugs splattered over windshield. Unfortunately, on the other side if rain hits the camera lens then You just need to wait for the rain to dry or fly off with the wind.
