Cab Ride Ljubljana - Villach (Karawankenbahn line, Slovenia, Austria) train driver's view 4K

In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view on the Karawankenbahn line from Ljubljana in Slovenia to Villach in Austria in 4K/60 frames per second.
This journey leads us on the Tarvisio-Ljubljana Railway which is a partially closed to traffic international railway line between Italy and Slovenia. It was opened in 1870 as part of the Austro-Hungarian Rudolfsbahn railway network. Today, only the Slovenian section between Jesenice and Ljubljana is still open to traffic. The cross-border section between Jesenice and Tarvisio has been closed to traffic since 1967 (Italian part) and 1969 (Slovenian part).
From Jesenice our journey continue on the Rosental Railway (Rosentalbahn). The majority of the line was built together with the Villach-Rosenbach railway line as part of the New Alpine Railways project. Today, the section between St. Veit and Klagenfurt is part of the supra-regional long-distance connection between Vienna and Villach, while the section between Rosenbach and Jesenice through the Karawanken tunnel is part of the supra-regional long-distance connection Salzburg-Villach-Zagreb. The railway connection from Klagenfurt to Rosenbach and the Karawanken tunnel now runs via Villach and no longer through the Rosental valley. The Rosentalbahn (Rosenbach - Weizelsdorf - Klagenfurt) is in operation - only museum and special trains are currently running on the Rosenbach - Weizelsdorf section. Villach-Rosenbach railway line (as part of the Karawankenbahn line to Jesenice) is a single-track, electrified main line in Austria, which was originally planned, built and opened on 30 September 1906 as part of a continuous railway link between Salzburg and Trieste.

La linea Ljubljana-Jesenice-Tarvis era la parte finale della RUDOLFSBAHN Amstetten-Selzthal-St. Michael-Sv.Veit an der Glan-Villach-Tarvis- Ljubljana: nel 1906 si incrociò con la TRANSALPINA Boemia-Linz-Selzthal-Schwarzach St.Veit-Villach-Jesenice-Gorizia KKsB/Nova Gorica-Trieste.S.Andrea (Campo Marzio). Poi dopo il 1918 e ancora il 1945 tutto cambiò. Altre relazioni. Nel video come particolari interessanti : La Ljubljana-Jesenice è tutta rinnovata, finalmente! Il tunnel Karawanke costruito a doppio binario rimase così fino al 1943, poi a semplice binario fino al 1977, di nuovo a doppio, ora è di nuovo a semplice binario però spostato in mezzo per consentire il passaggio dei nuovi tipi di carri merci.

A beautiful line as usual: the Ljubljana - Jesenice route is now well-known, both in winter and summer and it is always nice to see the line with the now very well-known Siemens Taurus which have now surpassed the French-made GG6500. The line would deserve at least a doubling up to Jesenice, due to its importance. The Stadler Kiss and Flirt are now an integral part of the SZ fleet. I didn't know there was a line up to Tarvisio originally, which runs through the Sava valley at the end. The short route from Jesenice to Villach runs through the woods of Carinthia and is a landscape quite familiar to me, because I pass through it often. The arrival in Villach as usual sees a multitude of trains. The gap between the Austrian and Slovenian stations is considerable. Much has been done in Slovenia but at least a double-track line would be useful in connection with Austria.

Thank you for your video and for riding along on the EC/D 210 'Sava'! This five-carriage, locomotive-hauled train is pulled by an ÖBB 1216 engine from Dobova, Slovenia, to Villach Hbf, Austria. The shunter's presence 01:39:25 on the platform in Villach Hbf is due to this! The train reached Jesenice, the final station in Slovenia, without delay, but was 35 minutes late upon arrival at its destination, Villach Hbf, Austria. Could you shed light on the cause of this delay?

It's plausible to assume passport and personal inspections took place on the train in Jesenice. For instance, trains entering Germany at Freilassing (Bavaria) experience an unscheduled stop of around 20 minutes for police checks.

Super video. Žalostno pa je, da so na popolnoma obnovljeni progi med Kranjem in Podnartom že tri počasne vožnje. Lanska neurja ne morejo biti izgovor. Da je teren na tem delu nestabilen in plazovit, je znano že desetletja. Krivo je pomanjkljivo načrtovanje in iskanje prihrankov tam , kjer jih ne more biti. Košare s kamenjem so morda všečne na pogled, vendar na takih terenih neučinkovite.
