Ah, this is one of my favourite rides. The last time was in heavy rain, I seem to recall. That grass looks amazingly green in the evening light.

In some moderate rain at least, yes. But it had rainbows and was beautiful, don't you think? However here is the (almost) dry version all the way to the terminus Altstätten.

A good cab ride in north eastern Switzerland. The line between Wattwil to St. Gallen opened in October 1910 by the Bodensee Toggenburg bahn which now part of the Sudosbahn . The line between Wattwil and Neslau open the frist to Eppnat in 1870 coming under SBB in 1902 and ten yes later the BT extened the line to Neslau a bit of history of the line .

Very nice cab ride divided in two parts. The first with more clouds and less sun, the second after Herisau mainly sunny except the end. Nice landscapes seen in part of this itinerary. I would like to see them with snow and sun. Thank you for all info given in this video. And finally nice kirch seen at left after the station of Nesslau.

Request. Is there any cab ride footage from Alstatten to/from Buchs SG which would complete the mainline footage in this area of Switzerland in recent times.
Thanks for yet another look at the SOB main line, I'll never tire of it! That line of covered wagons at Heerbrugg looks like one of the halves of a Red Bull train waiting for a path to the canning plant in Widnau, right? \m/

Hallo, sehr schöner Film! Dauen hoch. Frage: wohin fährt denn der lange Zug in Wattwill hin, der kurz vorher in die gleiche Richtung abfährt. Ich glaube nicht, dass er nach Wil fährt. Gruß aus Aachen Willie.

Das ist der VAE und der fährt ebenfalls nach St. Gallen, hält dabei jedoch viel weniger.

Very nice, but it sounds like the train wheels could use a little lubricating.

There are a few stations where train wheels get lubricated, but it massively reduces adhesion. It does not make sense to lubricate train wheels on open tracks in the middle of nowhere.

Ce système a tendance à polluer le dessous des bogies et des caisses - utilisation d’un stick lubrificateur sur la face interne de l’essieu - utilisation de nuance d’acier spécifique pour les rails des courbes Chaque réseau de trains ou de métro a sa solution préférée
