I traveled with this in the Middle East, UK and South Korea and had no issues with it. My laptop still survived through the trips. Packed my items in packing cubes which gave it more structure and padding. My priority is weight and quality. It still looks new without any tears or stains. The 36l version is just right for me

Thanks for the review! I purchased the military 28l. And I also bought the MEC 35l. I realized while both bags are excellent. For me if I want one bag travel I need pockets. So I am probably switching to the Aer travel 3. The reason of course what suit your needs. When I travel I like to have pockets that are easy accessible for iPad, iPhone, wallet etc, I fully understand I could carry a separate bag for all that and I do. But it’s not working. Keep up the good work I appreciate your videos and effort. Cheers Vancouver Island Canada

Thanks! Yep, it's good to know your travel style and what kind of bag works best for you. I find I like at least a few pockets for organization, but I'd almost rather have not enough than too many because I can supplement with pouches.

I purchased my first CZ basic when working in England and fell in love with it. When in warm climates my use of packing cubes and usually caring any tablet or tech in my personal item made this the absolute perfect carry on for clothes. If limited to only one bag I remove my streamlined personal item with my tablet when passing through security and then remove once again on the flight. My clothes are a capsule wardrobe in packing cubes and my shoes are sometimes the one pair on my feet. In warmer climates this is absolutely perfect. The hardware never lets me down, the other materials are perfect for lightweight travel. I simply put my cubes in, zip it up and cinch down the straps. In fact my 44 litre was the first version I bought and it was never questioned as a check in as a carry on item. I then followed that up with the 36 litre, same thing, never questioned at check in. Because it is rather inaccessible while passing thru TSA I've never used the laptop sleeve, it becomes a catch-all for any brochures or maps I may accumulate on my trip. On these lightweight excursions I usually only carry an iPad and that is always on my personal item. This makes the cabin zero basic very lightweight and I've never even wished it had load lifters or even a sternum strap. A lot of people want all the extras, but in my type of packing I'm happy attaching my water bottle with a carabiner and being able to pull out my iPad or even AirBook from my small personal item. Buy CZ when in Europe to save the shipping fees or keep an eye out for sales! CZ also has lightweight accessories. Great video, Cheers!

Nice, I think I wouldn't need a sternum strap except for bags that don't fit well without them. But I think a lot of the carry comfort on packs will vary from person to person. CZ does free shipping to the US for orders over $60, which is basically any of their backpacks. Returns are more difficult though because unless it's a defect, you may have to pay for shipping back to the UK. Which basically at that point you may as well just keep it or sell it locally.

@@OneBagTravels bags definitely fit everyone differently and as a female with a small shoulder span I rarely have issues when other people might. I also have a "hack" 🙄 of putting any midweight fleece or sweater over my shoulders as a way of sneaking through with my one bag item so that always gives me extra padding under my pack. CZ must have changed their shipping parameters because that's excellent to get free shipping to the US now!

I pack this 36l upright with small packing cubes from Decathlon. The packing bags are the exact size of the base so they look like drawers and the bag keeps its shape. Don't put packing cubes flat as in your video. As a women i find that the straps are very comfortable but is is not a bag for trekking, just an A to B holiday carry on bag.

According to EasyJet's cabin bag sizing, this should fit under the seat. Has anyone had any experience with this specific airline and this pack?

Thanks for the vid! I wonder how the CabinZero Classic Plus would go as it had some of the extra features the military and adv one has. I ended up getting the military 28L from your other videos and have a military 36L on the way 😅

Yeah I think you're right, the Classic is a little too minimalist for me, the Plus looks like it solves a lot of those issues with carry comfort.

Hey, is military 36L a lot bigger than 28L? I wonder if not-full-packed military 36l would pass wizzair or ryanair handbag allowance. Which one would you pick?

I'm also eyeing on this one and the 44L which is just over the carry-on limit by 1cm in width. I noticed the weight of both packs are very similar. If both packs have spare space for my trip (which I want it for souvenirs), Is it always better to under-pack more using the 44L than getting the 36L? I assume the compression straps will prevent the items from sliding around.
@OneBagTravels
@OneBagTravels Жыл бұрын
I think it's better to underpack a 44L bag than overpack a 36L, like you said it's nice to have more room for other stuff you pick up on your trip. Compression straps will prevent stuff from moving around as long as it's not too underpacked.

It’s pretty clear that the shoulder straps are too close together. It looks like it was pinching under the arms. A decent sternum strap would have helped, but I think that the shoulder strap placement wasn’t quite right.
@OneBagTravels
@OneBagTravels Жыл бұрын
I think so too. When I pull the shoulder straps together with my hand it fits better, so a sternum strap would probably solve this issue for me.

One feature I dont think is used enough is that of of bag with MOLLE/PALLS. I’ve been thinking of a 20-22L with attachments *during* travel but then removed at the destination.
@OneBagTravels
@OneBagTravels Жыл бұрын
I don't use the webbing much, maybe to help attach a water bottle. It can be useful but if you attach too much, or in the wrong place it will throw off the packs weight distribution. I'd rather have a larger half empty bag that I can pack my gear into, rather than having it hanging out the outside of the pack. You might like the Cabin Zero Military 28 then, it's similar to this pack but with external Molle webbing on the back.
@enriquediaz7547
@enriquediaz7547 Жыл бұрын
I didnt use to either but they are obviously there for a reason/design. I’m new to them but buying some simple attachments here and there. I do have the 38L Cabin Zero Mil, but have been interested in the 28L…albeit I do own a 21L Rucker and 34L GoRuck 2 :) I do like the CabinZero for the weight and less tactical (despite the MOLLE).
@OneBagTravels
@OneBagTravels Жыл бұрын
@@enriquediaz7547 I think some packs add MOLLE webbing to give the bag more of a "tactical" look, rather than to have any actual use. But if they're put in a good location where it makes sense to attach things, then they can definitely be useful.

Hi! First of all, thanks for your videos. They are very well presented and are a great source of information when it comes to choosing backpacks. I wanted to ask you the real difference between the CB36 and the CBAdv32. When you show the packing demo it seems that they are the same in capacity and the measurements on the web are a bit confusing (it says exactly the same measurements and there is a difference of 4 liters). Could you confirm that they are indeed the same? If they are, I'll go with the 32l versions because of the comment you make about comfort :) Thanks in advance.
@OneBagTravels
@OneBagTravels Жыл бұрын
Just to be clear, you're talking about the ADV 32L (www.cabinzero.com/products/adv-32l-mossy-forest) and the Classic 36 (www.cabinzero.com/products/classic-36l-absolute-black)? Those bags are completely different, Classic is simplier, has a larger main compartment, simpler less comfortable backpack straps. ADV is more of a top open bag, has much better carry system, and more organization. They are similar dimensions, ADV is a little taller, but I suspect the loss of volume has more to do with it having more pockets and losing volume to all the extra fabric.

Hey great video! I’m torn between the Cabin Zero 36l and the Cabin Max Metz 30l which would you recommend? It’s very hard to compare the two! Or is there a different one you’d recommend over these two?
@OneBagTravels
@OneBagTravels Жыл бұрын
Cabin Zero is better quality than Cabin Max. I have the Metz but I haven't done a comparison video yet. The Classic backpack is their most basic model, I prefer the carry comfort on the military bags better, or their ADV Pro line but the style is different.

Only their 28L bags are small enough to use for Ryanair, so I guess it depends on how underpacked it is. It's only 5 cm over in dimensions in the length and depth, so you could probably make it work.

Delta doesn't have dimension restrictions, just that it has to "fit under the seat" this bag is small enough to count as a personal item on most other airlines so I think it should fit on Delta. I tried one of their other bags the Classic Pro 32 on an Avianca flight and it fit fine, this is a little larger but I still think it will fit.
