There are plenty of exercises that are simply more complicated than they need to be. There are plenty of exercises that aren't the best, but are good enough to give a positiver result.
You can't choose too good of an exercise, but obsessing over the absolute best can distract you from doing the work that will be more important for your progress.
Keep things in perspective when looking to optimize your training, and even more importantly before you say anyone has to do one exercise over another.
This conversation sparked over JPG coaching and I having different stances on the behind the bench variations of the cable row. While kneeling behind the goal doesn't offer any stability or alignment benefits for lats training, if for some reason people like it, its not a detrimental exercise. However if you find it tedious, this is a prime example of just because you see someone doing it on social media doesn't mean you need to do it either.

This is such a valuable perspective. I had a colleague whose favorite saying--he didn't invent it, but he loved it--was "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good." Good enough can be good enough. People spend too much time searching for the optimal exercise, and then criticizing people who don't use it. Or watching other people in the gym, and shaking their heads. I see people doing all kinds of stuff in the gym that "looks wrong," but I don't know what they are trying to accomplish or what program they are on, or what limitations they may have. It's not my business, and I don't care. It's hard enough for me to do what I want to do in the way I want to do it. Combined with the tendency toward cultishness, the search for perfection turns what should be interesting differing perspectives on exercise into sectarian struggles for supremacy (providing endless opportunities for trolls to spark fights). Of course, people will fight over almost anything, but it's exercise, not salvation!

this is an amazing perspective, I always though that by having a staggered stance using the opposite leg as a support would give me a better range of motion, but your explanation changed my mind. Very good video👍

For those with limited space, would you say a well-rounded upper body could be built with just a decent dual cable pulley system?

Having Dumbbells as well would be great, but yes it’s possible if you’re creative.

Is leaning forward at the hips during the low cable row better for lat recruitment

Man more and more i feel cables really does its job when it comes to lat training, almost ditching out all DB's/ BB's stuff since my lats really started comming up after i realised how to engage and row/pull with my elbow.... thats valuable information, thanks alot for all the effort you put into the explanation! AND man, keep doing, if isnt asking too much, talk more about QUAD training and hack squats adjustments / platform, i myself had to move to another gym and the only option i have is this hack squat with more of a horizontal and higher platform, its quite different from a "Cybex" for example, wanted to understand more about its differences
