I bought the Cabrinha X2 5.0 recently. Love the Wing! I caught flight on my second day on the water. Totally stoked! I will be adding the 6.0 soon. The cambered boom is genius. It feels like it adds lift and power. Handles are well positioned. Great review Damo! #cabrinhacrosswingx2

NICE looking wing! How difficult is it to change or repair the inner bladder? I looks challenging with the double main strut. A video on Strut change would be great.

I got the 4 & 5 x2 and just learned to wingfoil. Havent ridden any other wing yet so i cant compare, but all the features mentioned are true and so far i love these wings. Cant wait for my Macro Board to arrive to step down in board sizes. Im on the 1600 at the moment but ordered a 1950 as well as i believe that id rather ride a bigger foil than wing,

Interesting that they have those mounts so you can use a harness. I was thinking about whether you could put a loop of rope like I have on the boom of my windsurfer so you can hook in now and then with a seat harness to take a little of the pull off of your arms and just sit back and cruise. If it wasn't there, I would try to find a way to attach a rope to hook in. Definitely a bonus in the design.

Yep Pete exactly a place to be able to hook in if you wanted to ride with a harness hook, and take the load off your arms, so many options!

Jose, Hard question as it depends on your area and wind strength on average..... Truth is the 5m can handle a lot so a 7m 5m is a good combo for lighter wind areas and if you want to cover the whole range! Maybe a 7m 4m option for a two wing quiver.....

Thanks for the review- made my decision to buy this wing. In your other reviews you generally say a 5m is a good first kite. I am 160 pounds and new to the sport but am experienced in other water sports- any size recommendation? Based on your other videos I was thinking 5 m but was now thinking maybe I should opt for larger- maybe the 6?

You are not wrong either way! If you have a lot of lighter wind days the 6m is great and really is not to big! I am 155 "a little skilled" and the biggest I use is the 5m but not learning. It helps when learning to have a little more power but as you get skilled you can make the 5m work. Its a tricky call.....

Thanks for the review Damien. This wing is something everyone seems to be raving about. But Question to Damien and also others here that have commented:. WINDOWS- aren't they necessary? Haven't you guys felt the need for windows? Do you know of Cabrinha is considering having them in next iterations of wings, or even the upcoming Wave Wing that was mentioned in this video?

Great question Raghu, Honestly windows are just on option and can be good placed in the right spot. I personally think its more user preference as it takes a second to lift the wing and see what's around you and start jamming again. Everyone honestly out there window or no window should be checking their surroundings always when riding. I see lots of companies with windows in the wrong place and you can not see though them. I think there are some with it in the right place and they do work but that wing is moving around and easy to lift the wing to check your surroundings and game on! I think it is not a must more of a preference for the rider.

You guys cut from the clip explaining the batons to Jon Holding the 3m which doesn't have batons, but it took me a while to figure out that he was holding a smaller wing that doesn't need batons.

Is there any general rule regarding wing size? For windsurfing if you can plane with a 7.0 you should be able to windsurf foil with a 5.0? A 7.0 wing sounds large to recommend for a beginner, unless the unique Cabrinha wing shape makes it easier to handle and even as a beginner you can luff the sail easily in gusty lake conditions. Great site. I predict you are going to kill it with this site!

Mike, Great question. The sport needs power for you to learn and there is no question when you get better you can use smaller wings but it sure helps to have power when learning the sport. or in the begining stages. That is the only reason we recommend a larger wing like the 7m X2. The X2 is unique as well as it has less of a tendency for the wing tips to catch. I. think its the design of the wing. Other wings of this size have more of a characteristic to catch the wing tips.

Sorry, I just have to say it- CAM-ber not CAME-ber with a long 'a' sound. I know you being a pilot Damo, you know about the different effects of camber on a wing (and kept pronouncing it correctly). I may have retired from teaching but, sometimes it still takes over. Maybe Covid fatigue is taking over. ; )
