I am running version 2.0.9854 on my MacBook Pro. Arrange is listed in the Design preferences just as you showed it; however, when I am in the Design workspace and I select Modify>Arrange, the Arrange item is grayed out and if I attempt to click on it, I am told that I don't have that feature because I have the free version of 360. Is this a recent change? Since January '21 - the date on your video.

Lars, you're one of my favorite KZbin teachers. Thank you for all of you're extremely valuable content. I have one suggestion, if I may. I struggle with being able to see your screen. I think it would be very beneficial if you zoomed in on the area where your mouse is. Also, making your picture larger while cutting out the areas that are not of interest helps us see what you're teaching us and talking about. I found another great KZbinr yesterday who does this very well. His screen name is Fusion 360 School. If you look at his videos, you'll see what I'm talking about. I don't need to stand 3 feet from my big screen TV to read the things he's selecting with his mouse. I truly love you're content and appreciate you so much. Hey Lars thanks for the video! Very useful as a woodworker that often builds furniture using panels that I cut either on the table saw or the cnc router. Either way this layout part (or cutlist) is very necessary! Having the free version, i think I'll use the align mode for small projects only and stick to the specific cutlist softwares for bigger projects. I'll lose time typing the dimensions into another soft but I'll save much more sparing myself the positionning optimization of the boards.

I have a Personal license and Arrange is only available if you have a subscription! I confirmed this with Autodesk and none of the Arrange features are enabled without a $495/yr subscription. So I suggest you show how to layout a flat-pack box and toolpath without using Arrange, please.

Arrange is only available in Student, Start-up, and Paid subscriptions. It is not available in 'Fusion 360 for Personal Use'.

Nice video! I hoped you find the time to start making them again at some point. I've been learning Fusion over the last few weeks, and your videos are the best resource I've found. The manual method you showed at the end is very similar to the way I did "cut sheets" for my sheet goods woodworking projects in SketchUp before switching to Fusion. Using Arrange is so much easier that I paid for a subscription a few days ago just so I could use it. After all, I'm switching from SketchUp for the extra power that Fusion provides, and I'm willing to pay a bit for that. (I understand that not all hobbyists can afford to, though. I'm fairly fortunate.)

I've just designed and built my own CNC and starting out(maybe a little late in life?). I'm struggling to design a guitar neck, there are loads of videos out there but none who describe the processes like you have done. Great video as usual! Question for sheet layout: what if you want to arrange the components on multiple smaller sheets? For instance my cnc can’t handle full sheets so they would need to be broken down. How would you do this in the paid version to automatically distribute to multiple sheets?

Hi Lars, you are one of the very best, I'm just worried, your last video is 1 year old according to YT, I hope you are well. I've made a few thoughts and I'd like to note them here. I'm having some problems with Fusion 360 and with my left hand. It is mainly about the orbit functions. I want to/can use my right hand mostly and mostly work/control everything with my old Logitech trackball. That's where the problem with orbit navigation and Shift+Middle Mouse Button / MMB lies. Holding the MMB and moving the trackball at the same time is impossible for me. As a German pensioner, the hardware from 3dconnection is unaffordable for me. 1.) Is there any way I can create / store a shortcut somewhere in Fusion that simulates the MMB and then assigns it to a trackball button? 2.) Is it possible to define a shortcut with which I can, for example, rotate the object in just 15° steps around a defined screen axis (the display X, Y, or Z axis? 3.) Can you call up a shortcut table, sorted alphabetically by key, can see which shortcuts are occupied and which are free to reassign these free ones and can you also edit them there? 4.) Can you define the colors of the lines (marked, projected, center line, etc.) yourself, such as in SolidWorks (my eyesight isn't the best, and people with color blindness might have big problems)? 5.) Can the workspace background be defined yourself (because of recognition) or can Autodesk supply new, higher-contrast ones for Fusion 360?

The last example with the free edition you used a rectangle that you did not extrude. Taking this setup to g code I’m curious about setting up the Noman to get proper reference off the top of the sheet for z zero. You placed the Noman on the flat sheet bottom and the parts were offset for space. New to this so confusing still a bit. I understand the sheet will be on the cnc and zero in the corner and I will zero the z to the surface. Curios as to the difference of extruding the rectangle to the sheet thickness and referencing the noman off that top corner. Now the difference of in the setup of the g code as to the levels with these two differences.

How's it going.. Watched quite a few of your videos now and was wondering if you could do a video on constructing a model car body by using a sketch of all four sides of the car via the insert function, spline, etc.. Maybe do an image search for a Mazda 787B or the Sauber Mercedes C9 all sides sketch to insert into the drawing? I'd like to try and make a few designs and print them on my Voxelab for my Mini-Zs. Is there some keystroke combination that determines if the Line tool in a sketch will continue adding line segments immediately after clicking to finish the first segment? I'm aware that a double-click on a line endpoint will "finish" that line. Sometimes, when I use Line, a single click finishes the line, other times it automatically starts drawing another line segment.

Hey Lars I am having a problem with scaling a project. I went to scale it after I made it a body. I used the short cut S and did the math and entered the amount to scale it and everything scaled except the letters that are in the project they stayed the same size. I have now tried to fix them together and now the letters have changed from a green color to an orange. dont know what I did exactly I am extremely new at this. thanks for your time

Liked the presentation. I am just beginning to use Fusion for my AVID CNC Router, wood. I have made a cabinet that does not fit on one sheet of 48x48 ply which is the bed size of my cnc as of now. Later 48-96 but not now. So I would love to see how to do this to multiple sheets of the same thickness. I did catch the Nesting to multiple thicknesses and I do have the paid version as of now. Will have to try it to see if i have the 4848 sheet in the Material Library if Nesting will automatically create multiple sheets with the layouts like it did for different thickness. The Cabinet does have 3 diff thickness, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4. A problem I have is when i try to do the tooling, the Material Block ends up being the height of the sheets up to including the original model that was sitting above so it thinks it cutting a 3 foot thick model. Thanks. Again a great presentation along with all the rest. Cant wait to get this working and being second nature. I currently use Vectric Aspire to do my designing but it is not as good for this type of designing.

I already know how to do pattern and multiply my cut paths… but some of my models does not fit very well if I arrange first (one copy) and pattern my cnc program… do you know what I mean? For multiple sheets you can create a large rectangle and divide it into sheets using "holes", like on 16:50. If I'm not wrong, this feature will not work with multiple areas but it works with one area with multiple holes.

Lars please could you show how to use fusion 360 to turn a industrial cam lobe as well as a crank shaft even single lobe or off set would be great for both literally looked for months on how to do this and I see zero content on concentric turning or turning cam lobes I know that it's possible to turn a cam lobe because I've seen videos of it being done just never the programing of it or cad cam work

I am soooo sad. I was a fusion 360 fan boy, but Fysion 360 has done all it can to alienate hobbiest like myself. We tinker and occasionally make a part here or there. There is no way to afford the license required to make and sell parts. The other thing is with the cloud storage of the parts, they basically take your sketches and they are no longer yours. If I try to sell something I do make, Fusion can come after me if I am just using the free version. So I am being forced to go to FreeCad. I will always own my drawing there and can occasionally make something to sell. It's very sad. I wish they had left things like they originally were. Or even a much more reasonable hobbiest license. Like 60 a year or so.
