I'm a 71 year old 3 times great grandmother with 2 hips and 1 knee replacement in my near future. I'm doing physical therapy now to get in better shape before the surgeries so there is a increased chance of a quicker, better recovery. One of the exercises is marching in place, an Incredible bore. Then I stumbled across the SEAL cadence "mixed tape", now I look forward to double timing my way through the exercise. My favorite line so far is "late at night when you're sleeping UDT comes creeping around", I'm old enough to remember the original Poison Ivy tune which I always sang to on the radio. Thank you for helping me to get in better condition so I can hopefully walk the Rocky Mountains that surround my home town.

Dad still sings, “I don’t want to be no airborne ranger” Marine recon Vietnam. Doesn’t talk about it at all but got him drunk one night, none of my uncles do nor him, don’t really know but fell they say the real shit. He was ambushed , had two k9 with them, was hunkered down for 3 days. Dogs wouldn’t stop barking and they were starving so they killed the fucking dogs and ate them. Fucking crazy.

I explained to him that I am not a fan of the church, but that I do love the bible, ministry and have ample appreciation for his service. I dont know if my comment offended him. i just wanted to REALLY THANK the OP. Im not military (well, I grew up a Navy brat, litersally grew up with my sisters on Yokosuka naval base... which was honestly magical... but my dad was a commander/21 in the navy, and we've always had a violent relationship, so to piss him off, I went and studied art history in the ivy league -- despite taking the asvabs as a "joke" in HS and having multiple representatives showing up on my doorstep day and night with promises that I can have "any job" I wanted, which I always figured was bs...) But now I'm 40. my dad is an old man. I love him. but he learned a while ago that even pansy art history majors (I've been doing bjj for 7 years/muy Thai 3 years) can give you a very bad day.... but I'm 40 now. and even though I train, do tons of aerobic and anaerobic, I'm too f""**ing old to serve. and now there's not a day that goes by that i don't think of lost opportuntiies... I get that I might be romanticizing the whole deal. But I really feel gyped by not taking the opportunity to serve with my brothers. it will always be the biggest shame of my life.....but that doesn't matter, these reflections of a midlife loser.... my point being, I love OP for posting these cadences. a couple weeks ago, I grabbed the audio from this video (hit me up if you need a link/ know-,how) and thrrew it on my phone, and now it's legitimately all I listen to when I run.... it hits so many spots in my brain.... so thanks, OP (I've clearly had a few drinks, BUT TOMOOROW is a new day, and we'll likely run 20 miles bc island Mexico is fun) in the meantime, please stay safe, relax, and again THANKS SO MUCH for these BEAUTIFUL cadences. yes I'm drunk now, but tomorrow, on mile ,6, they'll mean the whole world. again, thanks. hope all is well. take care bro
