highly recommend the "Racional" trilogy by Tim Maia, the guy just adopted a religion out of the blue, made his best (IMO) records and regreted making them, there are songs in english as well and a very fun rabit hole to dive into.

When MF Doom was a teenager, he was in a cult called the Nauwabians, which had a leader named Dr. York who released a bunch of R&B albums. If you want a cult with some slow jams, I guess this is the one for you.
