Last night I was wondering why the video was taking longer than usual, then I saw "Coconut Mall" in the title this morning and immediately understood. On a different note I love how, to supply Delfino Nightmare, you found Dr. E Gad, mugged him, and took all his clothes to sell at a mark up. Most business don't try sound business strategies like that anymore. Its a real shame.

I would've made a part of the track (specifically the turning parts) like some sort of mossy, decaying part of the mall, like if it that part of the mall was abandoned Anyways great vid ❤

Orange, green, purple, and black are the hallmark colors of halloween imo. You're going in a really strong direction, but I think a lot of fun is going to come in the details, such as changing signs to be spooky themed with spooky color schemes, maybe change some of the carpets or floor tiles out for halloween colored ones, maybe add some of the LM3 balloons from the haunted hotel opening, etc. I really think the Nightmare sign should be hung crooked though, it looks too neatly tacked on, and I think you could really rough the texture of that up a bit too. Just thoughts for next week is all.

I have an idea! King boo will use his crown to shoot purple projectiles at you, and if you get hit, you don’t get stunned and the thing that will happen is an image shown on screen for a few seconds. The image should look similar to this 4:56

Boos are considered “map objects” so that would need to be done through the Track Studio software by whoever makes this track playable in-game. Really great idea though, Charlie should mention this in his next video so someone is more likely to do it in Track Studio.

As the CEO of Halloween (Halloween is my birthday), this is great. I will say though, while I love the green and purple color combo, there's a DISTINCT lack of black and orange. I mean, those are THE Halloween colors before green and purple, so I think they could use some more love. I'd also love to see some floating Boos around the place and Swoopers hanging from the ceiling in places. You've GOTTA include a costume shop somewhere too. Mario Kart Tour had some Halloween costumes from an event, so it'd be SUPER cool to see like, Rosalina's witch dress and Mario's Jack-O' Helmet in a shop somewhere. Speaking of that helmet, PUMPKINS! You've GOTTA put pumpkins and Jack-O'-Lanterns around the place, in windows, on tables, etc. And of course there should be cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and trees in places. The mall is just looking way too clean at the moment, so some webs will really make things more spooky. Regardless though, I can't wait to see what comes next for this map.

Honestly, the richer/warmer palette for Dolphin -Dream- Nightmare here is a LOT cozier & more welcoming *here* than the "main" Coconut Mall revamp; if you could try swapping the lighting setups from here and the main, I think that could nicely accentuate the respective intended vibes very nicely! I'm happy for you to do whatever you want next week, but I would love to see you keep going with this. Maybe you could work on it gradually and release one final video on it towards the end of October with some lovely renders at the end. One suggestion I have is that you could make the lower exit of the mall, or maybe another bit, haunted with boos fading in and floating about (in game I imagine they would make the driver spin out in fright)

As other comments have said, I would love if Nintendo did themed versions of tracks to play during holidays... But I would also be cool with retro courses just having entirely different vibes in general. For a few years now I've been thinking the perfect way to bring MK8 courses in the next game would be to change up the aesthetics and hazards. Imagine Toad Harbor during a big storm, with water puddles everywhere and crates strewn all about. I never considered it before, but perhaps Nintendo giving a bright course holiday-themed coats of paint would be another way to spruce up retros. Perhaps... a spooky version of Squeaky Clean Sprint? Or Ribbon Road?

For the glass, did you go into the material settings and set it to I belive alpha hashed? or alpha clip i cant remember. same with the shadows. Should be in a dropdown called "settings" in the material properties on the right side panel. Forgive me if you already figured this out, Im only 2 minutes in. Then set the ior back to 1.450 to fix the reflections Edit: great transformation so far! I love stuff like this. I do something similar with album cover art. You need some cobwebs!!

Regarding what you asked at the end of the video, I think I'd rather see a Luigi's Mansion video. The Mario Kart revamp videos are good, but they've been the only videos for 2 months straight now and most of my interest in them is completely gone. I just want something that isn't related at all to track remasters. (I still want them to happen occasionally, of course, just not be EVERYTHING on the channel.)
