I've always liked this band I'm a 64 year old man. I just get tired when I hear people my age saying there's no good music out there and I keep telling them there is if you look for it. You're so much of it out there music is good you're never too old to love good music. And I just like to style the song it's really laid-back.

Jim, your a rare bread for your time. Most people your age denie the possibilities for new opportunities because their getting old so they denie everything new. So dont be like them, you can always find opportunities no matter the age. Love you jim. I hope your doing well.

my daughter is going to sing this solo at her 8th grade chorus concert. She overcame bullying and self-harm during middle school. I'm so proud of her, and this song to me is her letting go of that period of her life as she leaves middle school into high school. I can't wait to watch her sing live to all her peers.

i started listening to this song when i was 16. ive always been told i’ve been mature for my age growing up, due to a lot of abuse i endured. the year i was 16 was one of the worst years of my life. i talked my father out of committing su!c!de, twice, which was incredibly traumatizing for me at the time. i struggled heavily with depression, to the point where i contemplated my own life at one point. i spent hours staring out my bedroom window when it rained, and have a vivid memory of just standing in the rain crying for something to pull me out of my pain. i fell behind in school after being an honours student, and missed close to over 100 days of school. this song truly did save me. i happened to be playing my spotify on a random shuffle which is what led to me finding this song. i think this song had such an emotional toll on me because the lyrics resonated with me so well. here i am, now 17, coming back to this song as my dad is in the hospital, nearing his death bed. i feel this song will stick with me for the rest of my life. thank you cte ❤

I met my fiancé when I was 17 and I was beyond depressed looking for a way out, tried to committed suicide at 17, then I met him. This year we celebrated our 6th year anniversary and we always play this song on our anniversary date. It’s been our song, since I was 17. I can’t wait to play this at our wedding next year, it’s like the lyrics perfectly describe us, how I feel about him and how he feels about me.

Basically my version was I went into it with every intention of pulling it off but then a million to one chance of something happening would happen every time after the second or third try failed and I woke up lying on the floor with the cord still wrapped around my neck the next day my friends whom I had forgotten about and I hadn't seen in years found me I was in a rush trying to clean everything up when they got through the front door and still had the noose on good thing to cause this year my wife that I had tried killing myself over losing ended up dying of cancer and I had to take over for her so she could finally rest. I told her what happened years later and she said it happened cause you're works not done yet you can't leave until it's finished that's the only words that carry me through alot of days now I went from being a mechanic to a welder to a stay at home dad of four 3 of which have autism so things pan out in ways you could never imagine I can't knock suicide cause I know what it means to be in such misery and constant pain that you can only sit and fantasize about which way would be the most effective way but you never have any way of telling what's around that next bend

This song describes and gives the feeling of being 17 so accurately. Something about being 17 is so scary to me. You have only one year left of being a “child” yet you still have so much to learn. Soon you will be graduating high school and will never be a little kid again. Your life flashes before your eyes and the sudden rush of anxiety and despair you feel once you hit this age is unexplainably heartbreaking. You can’t go back to your childhood and do things differently after clearly seeing what you should’ve done differently. You don’t even know how to be an adult or what you are going to be doing with your life.. will you stay in this mess for the rest of your life.. or if not.. will you will even be able to make a name for yourself and be able to be looked upon by society as something valuable just because of your job title and your salary? You think, did I do enough? Did I waste all of my time fixating on things that doesn’t matter? Will I ever make it out of this rut that I’m in? It’s sad that we all have to think this way in this messed up world that we live in. I’ve never felt so understood by a song. This song hurts.. especially when your 17 and looking for the answers.

Did you stand there all alone? Oh I cannot explain what's going down I can see you standing next to me In and out somewhere else right now You sigh, look away I can see it clear as day Close your eyes, so afraid Hide behind that baby face Do do do do do do You can drive all night Looking for the answers in the pouring rain You wanna find peace of mind Looking for the answer Funny how it seems like yesterday As I recall you were looking out of place Gathered up your things and slipped away No time at all I followed you into the hall Cigarette daydream You were only seventeen So sweet with a mean streak Nearly brought me to my knees Do do do do do do You can drive all night Looking for the answers in the pouring rain You wanna find peace of mind Looking for the answer If we can find a reason, a reason to change Looking for the answer If you can find a reason, a reason to stay Standing in the pouring rain Do do do do do Do do do do do Do do do do do Do do do do do You can drive all night Looking for the answers in the pouring rain You wanna find peace of mind Looking for the answer If we can find a reason, a reason to change Looking for the answer If you can find a reason, a reason to stay Standing in the pouring rain

When you fall in love. This song means something. But if you lose them it means even more. He was a cigarette daydream, 17 and sweet but strongheaded, He was my world man. But than i had gathered up my things and slipped 963 miles away. He said he loved me so much and patience. Now i lay here in the dark, and my favourite song instead if making me smile, makes me bawl. He was so beautiful.

I'll dedicate this song to a girl who I was friends with. A girl who I loved at the time, but never really became anything other than friends. A friend who gave me my first kiss and who I fell in love a little more. To this day I still don't know why she did what she did, to her it might've been something that can easily be brushed off. But to me, it's still a moment that I still remember clear as day. We were seniors in highschool, I followed you into the hall and, unlike this song says, you brought me to my knees. Sometimes I wish I never met you, but then again, time goes forward and not the other way around. So if you're reading this, just know that I'll never forget you. Time has healed the wounds, that left you left on me. The "will she" "won't she" wounds. I just can't help myself but get reminded of you everytime this song comes up. Just wishing you the best, and wishing you don't let what happened to me to the next person you meet.

Whenever i felt sad or scared we wouldnt last I'd lay outside in my yard and look at the stars while listening to this. I never had the courage to tell her how I really felt and we always were just friends. I regret not telling her so much and miss the times we had. No matter how hard I try I cant get over us...

It’s kind of inexplicable, honestly. This comment perfectly summarized it tho. I had been hearing this song on the radio a lot, way before I saw the music video. Now that I’ve seen it, I’m realizing that a lot of the imagery perfectly parallels thoughts I had when just listening to it. Spooky.

First day of 2024, this year I will turned 17th in May. Hopefully my future self will succed and became happiness than last year. Message for my future self: Keep growing whatever it happened. Just like the seed, grow from the darkest deepest ground and glow became beautyfull flower. Keep your shine and be the light for people around you. Just remember, God will guide us through everything that happened. Wherever and whenever you are, God will with you. Inside your soul💖

Lyrics Did you stand there all alone? Oh I cannot explain what's going down I can see you standing next to me In and out somewhere else right now You sigh, look away I can see it clear as day Close your eyes, so afraid Hide behind that baby face Do do do do do do You can drive all night Looking for answers in the pouring rain You wanna find peace of mind Looking for the answer Funny how it seems like yesterday As I recall you were looking out of place Gathered up your things and slipped away No time at all I followed you into the hall Cigarette daydream You were only seventeen Soft speak with a mean streak Nearly brought me to my knees Do do do do do do You can drive all night Looking for the answers in the pouring rain You wanna find peace of mind Looking for the answer If we could find a reason, a reason to change Looking for the answer If you could find a reason, a reason to stay Standing in the pouring rain Do do do do do do You can drive all night Looking for answers in the pouring rain You wanna find peace of mind Looking for the answer If we could find a reason, a reason to change Looking for the answer If you could find a reason, a reason to stay Standing in the pouring rain

I remember sitting on a bench in my quiet town, cold beginnings of winter hitting me- I never liked the cold- and the clock hit 12:00AM..I cried for the first time in a long time, in the turn to my 18th birthday. This song blared in coincidence in my friend's car as she pulled up to the brick walk way where I sat. I'll never forget that moment. It started sleet-raining and she took me on a drive to cheer me up. As this song went on I sang it loud and proud like the fun idiot I could still be back then, and my friend who was easily annoyed by 'radio music' jammed and sang along with me in time for the @3:00 mark... I bought my "first" pack of cigs-- and the clerk didn't even card me, just that one time, of course. We both knew I was about to be left out in the cold from friends and family alike, I'd probably become homeless in due time thanks to my failing health, and life would only get more difficult from there. True nihilists at heart. One day we both lit cigarettes and just sat in silence, overlooking our usual spot over at the river dam. Eventually she left, too. This song always gives me bittersweet feelings. I never got to feel like a kid, be a kid, have a 'normal childhood'; but, even now I do miss those days for what they were.

i think that this video was about a woman, killing her old self, which was represented by the girl in the trunk. She had a past of maybe sexual harassment, hard childhood memories. She set all of that ablaze when she burned her car. She was finally relieved from all the weight on her shoulders. She felt free. So she was able to dance again. And stop running.

@amaro781
@amaro781 8 жыл бұрын
+Grace Hall I think you're on the right track but I don't think that her childhood was hard. In my personal interpretation of the video, I see a story about a woman that was raped/sexually assaulted (officer creepy on her at the car), and then I think she murdered her assailant (body bag and I'm-cleaning-blood-off-my-body shower and scenes with her looking at a knife). I think the video then is her reflection about her loss of innocence, which causes her to think about her childhood and times when she was most pure in contrast to what she just did and what just happened to her. I think she is able to move past this struggle by symbolically killing her "past self" by setting fire to her in the back of the car where she was assaulted. She's letting go and moving on with her life, with Matt. But that's just my personal interpretation and I'm not sure whether the cop was the one that assaulted her or not. She may have had a history.

This was me and my first Love’s song. There is nothing that compares to the love and anguish we both experienced, our love grew stronger when her parents ended our relationship. About a half a year has gone by and it still seems i’ll never get over her. Every single day i battle with the thought that maybe we just weren’t meant to be, or maybe I just love her too much to ever let her go. Maybe time will tell. Maybe i’ll die before we ever see each other again, maybe we’ll end up together and tell our kids about the hardships we faced. I’ve thought about you nonstop even in my toughest times. I just don’t get it. how does one go on with life knowing this kind of love is out there for me. How do i supply someone with the love that you deserve, yet sadly got stripped away from. i just don’t get it

I was 15 when I discovered this song And i fell in love with it instantly… Last month I turned 17 I’ve never been more scared to be 17 Something about being “17” is magical yet scary at the same time It’s the end of teenage hood which is the hardest part of life You got to experience many things and enjoy without caring , doing stupid shit with your group of friends and smoking And trying to find the answers for “who you really are” In teenage hood , you want nothing more than proving yourself and knowing more about yourself Being 17 is like the bridge between the adults life and the teenage life You’ll be afraid to make the first step on that bridge thinking you still don’t know how to be grown up But you’ll manage to succeed.. Because that’s life.. Im 17 and i always feel lost.. Idk what to do but i know I’ll get through it 17 is magical and can be scary too But you’ll never forget those memories that you made as a 17 years old..
