The Indiana Fever, with a huge game from Lexie Hull, storm back for a win against the Seattle Storm. Lexie set a career high in points and three point shots made, Caitlin Clark set the rookie assist record for a season, Aliyah Boston had a monster 15 rebounds and Kelsey Mitchell lit it up for 27 points. Let's talk about it.
Caitlin Clark, the #1 overall pick in the WNBA draft has completely upended the entire league. She's shattering records both on the court, in viewership, live attendance, and even merchandise sales. From selling out WNBA All-Star jerseys in mere minutes to selling out of her Wilson basketball 'Limitless" signature series in hours, she's revolutionizing women's basketball.

Sheryl Swoops if you’re listening Caitlin Clark broke Ticha Penicheiro’s all time rookie season assist record of 225 was set back in 1998, Ticha set that record in 30 games (according to The Athletic)….Caitlin broke the record in 28 games (2 less, since you’re so bad a math), she’s 22 not 25 and this is just half way through her rookie season and no she has not been in the league for 5 years and that’s why it’s called her rookie season, she now has 232 assist with 12 games remaining. I hope this helps you get the facts (which are optional to you) straight on your next podcast.

@@mattmunson1867 27 games for what. I count today's game as the 28th game of the season and according to the Athletic Ticha Penicheiro set the record in 30 games. The WNBA season was shorter during Penicheiro’s rookie year, but it took the Portuguese guard 30 games to reach 225. Clark exceeded that mark in Indiana’s 28th game of the season, with 12 more contests left to put that total out of reach for future first-years. from the Athletic.

She sees the pass. 2 She passes at the right speed required, this is so important because it gives her team mates time, her team mates don't need to adjust (change stride etc) and puts them in the best place to score. 3rd she actually spins the ball with the bounce pass

From the rulebook: "A coach is not permitted to cross the midcourt line and violators will be assessed an unsportsmanlike technical foul immediately." If Clark deserves a T for her unsportsmanlike behavior why doesn't Quinn for violating this rule that expressly forbids exactly what she did when she crossed the line and went into Sides' coaching box?

I think she has to up her game pts significantly in order to contend w/ A'ja . I was looking at stats after the game, & CC due to her # if games is still lower than a lot of very good players, BUT more than any1 A'ja had very high record as a rookie & still does! I think she also leads the league in blocks!!! Hopefully these next 12 games she continues to PUSH HARD! It's frustrating cuz the women Vets & those on ESPN, Keep saying that they're going to choose who the ROTY is by the team's standings!!! I heard Elle Duncan say this again!!! 🤮. I was ticked & am not goin 2 watch ESPN anymore on CC. I do like Rebecca! I finally realized it, I think it's SO the blow is not so harsh on AR?!?! But it's CRAZY, no other professional sport, nor the W b4 CC has EVER decided ROTY based on the team!!! The same w/ MVP for the season?!?! The Liberty r still #1 & just beat the Aces & no 1 is having a problem saying adamantly that A'ja Wilson is the MVP so far!!! Sue Byrd suddenly has said, she doesn't think stats are important just the eye 👀 test! But I'm sorry she's only saying that b/c CC is breaking ALL their records!!! I noticed another DT record that CC broke of hers w/ the their game against Dallas, that I hadn't noticed before!!! I thot it was beautiful & classy that on YTube & X that the past rookie player who CC passed today in Asts gave a personal shout out to Caitlin 4 eclipsing her!!! I've been saying for a while that Caitlin can shoot from anywhere. She HAS and HAD a mid game. She just couldn't utilize it for the first several games because she was getting bitzed with no team movement....no kick out options. Now you see her baiting defenses because she has options with kick outs, dime drops, back cuts and skip passes like that long one to Lexie from the corner out to the top of the key for a triple. This team MUST run and run their offense through Caitlin. She is now making defenses pay for double and triple teaming her. Her teammates are trusting her and MOVING to get open! They finally realize they get open looks based off her great passing and teams over defending her. When any team doubles a player, someone is OPEN! This ain't rocket science! CDS is right with the running. The worst defense outside of opposing teams is Christie Sides! Good grief! If she would just take a page out of Lisa Bluder's book and let Caitlin be Caitlin, The Fever will keep doing well. Last thing, the officiating in this league is absolutely beyond terrible! I'm SO sick of the "cherry picking" calls. Diggins-Smith nearly took Caitlin's arm off on a "steal" and no call?! But next Storm possession they do their "make up" call with the moving screen. 🙄 CDS is also right about cleaning house from top to bottom. Please start with officiating before someone gets seriously injured! My advice to CC....please get a mouthguard!

LOL. About Caitlin going to a football game. I can dig what you're saying because there's only one Dennis Rodman. When he was with the Bulls this guy would ask for a vacation, fly to Las Vegas, do his thing, fly back and play the game. At times he'd still have so much energy that he would ride a stationary bike, right after the game! 😆 I can kinda understand pulling Kelsey for that blown lay up but I'm not to upset with her because there were a number of blown chippies in that game other than hers. But your take reminded me that pulling a player is Mich. State's Tom Izzo's trademark. Didn't matter if it was the first 10 seconds of the game. You mess up big time you're coming out. He wouldn't keep them out long though. After a few minutes he would put em right back in, "After" scolding 🤨 them.

Lexie reminded me of Gabby Marshall from Iowa. When she was hot making 3's, she was unstoppable. But very streaky. Will have to see how she does next game. Come on Boston !!! you been watching Angel tossing up crazy shots hoping to get fouls called. These Refs were worse than Jr. High refs. Massive fouls on both teams not called. I thought I was dreaming towards the end..... I saw Grace Berger in the game !!!! Go Grace !!!!

SERIOUSLY.....the way the 1H of the season went...did ANYONE ever think we would see an opposing coach & team actually crying about getting beat too BADLY by the Fever ??? Noelle Quinn needs to STFU & sit down. Beefing about Sides playing starters too long? Seattle beat Indiana 103-88 earlier this season. Quinn kept in her starters ALL game. The hypocrisy is unreal. Further, we witnessed HER team TWICE help Angel Reese stat pad to extend her bogus streak. They left her virtually unguarded AND did not box her out for rebounds for 3 whole quarters in one game--until she got her double-double. GTFOH! Lastly, I am guessing Noelle Quinn had ZERO issue with "bad sportsmanship" when Caitlin made a 3-pointer earlier this season and Vivians punched her in the chest...just for making a shot. If these people did not have double-standards, they wouldn't have ANY standards.

When Caitlin was coming off the court at that timeout, she was down on Storm side of the court. She was waving her arms, motioning to the crowd to get loud. Diggins-Smith, was apparently upset and in walking to the Storm bench, picked up her pace so that she would catch up to Caitlin and hen she kind of pushed her, pushing her towards the Storm bench! Caitlin kept walking towards the Fever bench, and one could see Quinn complaining to the refs and then confront Sides. That’s why Diggins-Smith was up there, yapping as well. I guess Caitlin’s not allowed to celebrate as she’s coming off the court. Sore losers!

Why so open? Because Caitlin Clark is on her team.

Caitlin's basketball IQ is other-worldly, she takes several 3-pointers early and didn't cash in but it really doesn't matter because it puts the Storm on notice that if Caitlin gets really hot and begins making these, Caitlin has their attention and they must guard her whether she makes the shots or not, then she can do the rest of her skill set, her passing, her court-vision, setting up her teammates to get their "practice 3's" like Lexi, even Demaris got one but also her other teammates got hot as well because those shots and looks were set up by Caitlin's downhill gravity. Watch out WNBA, the Fever is beginning to compete for a Championship! But Coach Sides is so stubborn and may cost them down the stretch!

The title of this video could have easily been: "Seattle disrespected Lexi Hull, determined not to guard her & FAFO" Lexi was also the defensive player-of-the-game! (game ball goes to her) Whoever guarded Jewell Lloyd so close also gets the second game ball. (Not Caitlin, this time, LOL) If A. Boston keeps getting 15+ rebounds & 8+ assists then the Fever will never lose again, through the rest of the 2024 season. My on-going complaint about Christie Sides is that she is in denial of one major point of reality. She should feel totally self-chastised & debunked for believing that her best FEVER team is a post-up team. Basketball, whether its little league, pop-warner or WNBA, is a game of 'match-ups' & the 'W' has the fever beat in the # of effective "bigs" in the league already. However, the success of Caitlin Clark Kent, as a field general of a lightning quick playing play-off team will make all those "bigs" in the f-f-en "W" 'straight-away' useless & obsolete. So, Christie, my dear, 'forget-about-it'.
