@@apart691 worst case scenario, if it doesn't work as a cookie, it'll probably work as a granola type thing? There's no reason for it to be unsafe or inedible, it just probably won't hold together without any sort of real flour or a flax egg or something

Raw almonds are really expensive where I live. It costs around 10 to 12 dollars a pound so I don't know if I could swing this method even though I would like to. I also buy my own distilled water (which i would uee in this milk) because of the fluoride they reintroduced into our water source (sadly) . I am going to try to make this to see the taste difference from store bought.

My family drinks a lot of almond milk and my mom always buys like 3 liters of almond milk per week so I wonder if where I live might be more convenient to do my own almond milk. Thank you Caitlin for the recipe I can see its super easy and now I can see test it out and see if at least where I live might be cheaper to make my own:) as for the pulp cookies I might substitute it with something else (cranberries maybe?) for me lol Im not a fan of chocolate hehehe

How can you tell if the almond milk has gone bad? Is it a smell change or color?
@CaitlinShoemaker5 жыл бұрын
The milk will start to separate more as days go on, but there is a distinct separation that it takes once it goes bad. It also smells - you'll know when it's off! We usually drink all of ours before it gets to that point but it has happened before, so I know :)
@AL-qe4mf5 жыл бұрын
you will be able to tell it sour, it tastes terrible once its gone sour and there is a smell. It will last fine for a week though. The only downside of homemade is there is no added calcium which plant-based eaters need to be conscious of, but you can get those from a multi vitamin too.
@dannyokezie76564 жыл бұрын
I made a batch yesterday and it seems like its gone bad already. I don't know what I did wrong. The only difference is that I added a bit of vanilla extract. It smells bad and tastes horrible after one day :(
@sandysheldon24884 жыл бұрын
@@dannyokezie7656 That happened to me once when I soaked it too long outside the fridge. I find that it's not good to leave it overnight on the counter but put it in the fridge and to perhaps not soak more than 12-ish hours. Also were the Almonds okay? Perhaps they were rancid. You can tell by giving them the sniff test. Rancid smells.....well.....rancid!! Many nuts are rancid when you buy them and if they aren't kept in the fridge.
