Caitríona Balfe Talks "Outlander" Season 6, Sam Heughan & Who She'd Cast as Older Jamie & Claire

Caitríona Balfe sat down with SheKnows' Reshma Gopaldas to discuss all things "Outlander" Season 6. Balfe opened up about what it was like filming her hit show while pregnant during the pandemic in the middle of winter in Scotland. Firstly, she said the entire "Outlander" cast was thrilled to be back at work. She also revealed what she loves about working with Sam Heughan, that he might not know. We decided to ask her if "Outlander" was like "The Crown," who would she cast as the older version of Claire and Jamie Fraser.
Balfe discussed how she and Sam Heughan were producers and let us in on what the production process on "Outlander" is and how they collaborate with the writers.
She also confessed this season of "Outlander" is pretty intense for her character, Claire Fraser, and that her favorite episode is the eight and last one of the season.
And finally, we asked Balfe, who recently became a first-time mother, what it would have been like if Jamie and Claire Fraser had raised a newborn together - how would those two have dealt with diaper changes in the 1700s?
Balfe also answers fan questions, including what her theory is behind Jamie Fraser's ghost appearing in the very first episode of "Outlander."

Great interview. Love the focus on Outlander. I still feel Caitriona should have gotten an Oscar nod for her brilliant performance in Belfast. I just bought the film to add to my collection of favorite films.

Oh I love Cat but I am a bit disappointed to hear her response to the final question. It means her knowledge of the books isn’t that great as Nappies were called clouts and both Claire and Jamie changed them.

I was so distracted with Caitiona's jacket. What is going on there? I think she needs to fire her tailor because that is the most ill fitting jacket I have ever seen. One shoulder looks twice as long as the other. And then the Ed Harris comment. Ed Harris? Jaime is actually about a foot taller and much more robust than Ed Harris. So, that does not even make sense. Well, we love her anyway. She makes a great Claire, so all is forgiven.
