diners drive-ins and dives is such an unbelievable show for what it is and also just for showing you what's out there that's great when you're on vacation or just traveling around slightly you can always check out what triple D did… Definitely heard of places even close to me that I never knew about

my biggest (2-3 1-3)pot was at the oaks card club in Emeryville/oakland CA... when you were in town you could've went there or lucky chances two great places close to SF. stacks are 1k 1k 700 the hand is 6 straddle. EP raise to 25, on button I call j10cc, BB 3 bets 85, call call,flop 7 9 Kcc, i flop double gutter and a flush draw, BB bets 200 EP CALLS, I SHUV both call. BB turns over AA, I spike the 8 on the turn and river is blank.EP doesnt show but maybe set. i scoop 3K or so

The problem with $1-2 at Lone Butte is they rake the small blind after the deal no matter what. There is no chopping just folding the small blind. If you raise pre and take down the blinds you risk ~$10 to win $1 as they drop $2. The cheap food is nice but the rake is horrible. Unless you have great action at the table it’s really difficult to beat that kind of rake. $2-3 plays a lot like a $2-5 or bigger but its the same grinders there daily, which kind of makes the game hit or miss.

The $2/3 game at Lone Butte is $300-1,000 buy in with match the stack, thus the potential for big pots. The games can be really wild. My favorite place to eat near Lone Butte is Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q. The sauce is not sweet enough for my wife, but the large baked potatoes with your choice of meat on top is a killer!
