There’s no way anyone will pay 100$ for my home made recipe which I’m so proud of. People don’t get it! The love,energy,creativity... I mean, I love baking and decorating cakes. I’m learning from experts like you , but can’t practice more because that means that I have to give my creations to friends and family that will not pay.

you made a great point and also shows people why these quality cakes are "so expensive" (like some think). great job

Hunty, preach! Just starting out, but thanks so much for validating my approach and attitude to this whole business! Really appreciated this detailed breakdown. Especially handy for me as we're upgrading our kitchen, and I'll now be able to accurately determine how my business usage will depreciate that equipment. Excellent breakdown!

This is fantastic! I always wondered the number people used for depreciation. Thanks for this!

Wow... so true people really try you these day! Sad! They fail to realize how expensive it is!

This was great, thank you so much for doing this video! I had no problem cussing out my ingredients and one time use supplies, but for some reason a good process by which to include equipment, mortgage, electricity, etc. (which I knew I needed to be included) was escaping me. The average cakes you can make per week is absolutely perfect! Now I can finish my pricing and get started! :-)

The only thing I buy in bulk is chocolate when it's in my supermarkets. I buy up to 30kg as I only make mud cakes (it's what's requested). I've always said the Swiss meringue butter cream and ganache costs more than the cake, and people don't realise the cost you pay to make their cake. When giving a quote, they don't think of insurance, electricity, boards and boxes, the colours... Everything. You've outlined it pretty well 😊 I appreciate you doing it. Thank you. Xx

Thank you! I use Cake Boss Software and have all of my materials and ingredients, recipes and so on. BUT...never thought about depreciation or even my business cards and all the paper materials that I send with the cakes. I usually stick in $10 for misc. but that really doesn't cover it so now I have the courage and conviction!! lol Oh, when I charge for my fondant covered boards, I calculate the board, the oz. of fondant, ribbon and time (about 15 min), is that correct?

It is expensive, lol...I go through all the supermarket circulars chasing butter sale, lol. Yea you're darn tooting it is freaking expensive...

I've not yet seen a break down of costs that adds in the cost of you learning the skill, and wastage. Any other business would do that, so in reality, the final price should be higher - in my opinion
@gaviota4fly5 жыл бұрын
The problem I'm confronting is that no one wants to pay.
@s.markes45593 жыл бұрын
Me too, nobody wants to pay. But they want the most expensive design🤦🏽♀️ I think it's everywhere

How can I print it out
@job36877 жыл бұрын
With Iphone, take a screen shot which goes to photos to be saved. Open tour photos, find picture of your image and you can then print . Just like printing a photo.
