And by the way, this is not how us the real Italians, the ones who are born and raised in Italy you know... the country Italy, in Europe... well we don't make it like that. Especially not with all that garlic. But it is know that fake Italians who live in the US have spread this idea that Italians put garlic all over the place. Yuck!
@lmt66724 жыл бұрын
Garlic is amazing! And gives amazing taste! You are so rude.. not all of Italy does it one way. Other parts do it differently.
@andromacha834 жыл бұрын
@@lmt6672 and you are... Italian born and raised to make this statement? Garlic is used for taste yes but it is REMOVED afterwards so that nobody eats pieces of garlic. But yeah.. what do I know right? Better taking for granted everything that this woman says... afterall she IS Italian ahahhahahahahha

Spero riuscirai a leggere. I pomodori dovrebbero essere più rossi e maturi per fare la salsa. In Italia...si fa cosi. Comunque brava, perché la tua salsa è migliore di quelle che si trovano in america.

Did anyone else notice that all of a sudden there's more sauce in the pot when Lisa came after she said to simmer it? Like almost double the amount was there normally if you are simmering it there would be less not more! I love her sauce and normally make my own as well the way my mom taught me as I grew up in a mainly Italian neighborhood. The other reason I make my own is my hubby has a reaction to many preservatives

1 hour and a half for some tomato sauce? I usually do it in about half of the time. 😅 You take some olive oil, some fresh tomatoes (cut them in half), basil and salt. Let them cook without the lid in a saucepan: this way it cooks and thickens way faster. You do have to pay attention and stir every once in a while, or it may burn easily. That's all you need. My grandma used to add a pinch of sugar if the tomatoes weren't sweet enough. You have to use the food mill if you want a silky texture, but some people here in Italy prefer to eat their pasta with some chunks of tomatoes here and there. There's really no need for all these other steps. And usually we don't mix BOTH onions and garlic in our tomato sauce, you really can't taste the tomatoes if you use both of them. 🤷♀️

You could try reducing your sauce. Leave it on a simmer for awhile it will take the excess water out
@mily48533 жыл бұрын
Hello, If you found this sauce watery then you might cook it for shortest time after adding on garlic oil. Please, give it enough time to cook for absorbing the water & stir well for not burning down. I hope you may find it helpful. Thanks.

That’s a very expensive sauce to make Lisa...I would love to use all fresh tomatoes in my sauce but it’s not economical. So I use a glass jar of Mutti passata sauce with one or two fresh tomatoes sautéd first in olive oil and onions...then add the passata and some water because passata is very thick ... and add the basil if you have and if not no worries because Mutti sauce comes with basil leaves in it.
