In this full prison documentary, we look back at the stories of teenagers Charles and Michael as they make their way through life behind bars as teen prisoners in a maximum-security juvenile prison. Originally filmed in 2008, this documentary retraces the teens time behind bars, what life was like in lockup, and gives an update on where the teens are now, 16 years after we first met them.

And parents not showing up to get their child is exactly a huge part of their problems. Sad.

@melz6019 - family support is such a huge part of any child's success, especially in situations like this. Charles's story was sad all the way around. Thank you for watching.

America is the country where parents don’t give a fuck about the kids.

It’s crazy how much yall did to help America get unprecedented access to view the American prison system. You guys truly were a catalyst in changing the world. Do yall still record prison videos?

@scottwaters3959 - Wow, thank you so much. While we haven't changed the world, we hope we at least help open eyes to a system that is usually shielded from the public. Our goal is to inform and educate, and allow people to see the many layers of how and why kids can end up in places like this. And yes, we're still filming today, and will have a big announcement coming soon. We hope you'll stay tuned. Thanks again!

😳🤯I’m honestly SHOCKED too hear about Charles🥺I would bet that his mom NOT attending his graduation ceremony laid HEAVY on the path he chose & definitely mom NOT going through therapy herself probably added to the situation? I’m proud of the other kid turning his life around even with the hickup regarding his burglary conviction! I sincerely hope that he stays on the RIGHT PATH & out of trouble!!!!! Thank you for the insight of this ever increasing population of teens FINALLY being held ACCOUNTABLE & RESPONSIBLE for their OWN CRIMES!!!!

No matter if a child comes from a good or bad home, some are just going to throw their life away. Because they want to continue being a bad ass. We all have choices.

You have no idea what some of these kids have seen and gone through tho. They were almost born with or into no hope. Yes some of the kids will make it but many more will throw their lives away. It's sad no matter what

Do the parents also have the opportunity to go to therapy or counseling with their child?
@CalamariProductions
@CalamariProductions 6 ай бұрын
@lindseybarker405 - at that time, no, they didn't participate in therapy or counseling during the time their child was incarcerated. They were allowed to visit every day, and the kids could call, but counseling and therapy was individual at the prison. That said, during the course of filming the administration was planning on implementing a system whereby parents would have to take part in counseling programs prior to their child's release, because research showed that parental participation was KEY in any future success. Thank you for asking!

Minor consumption is the worst charge that one guy had and got locked up for that long? He is 18 now and having to put up with all that. Should have been released when he hit 18 on such a minor charge. I guess I just had a family that cared is why I didn't get locked up as a juvenile cause I had way more serious charges than that. Now, after 18, I did some time. I'm done with that now, but it was hell for a while Being locked up is not fun..
