With regards to Wyatt's injured left arm. There was a brief moment where he slammed his right arm into a wall during his sprint through the hallways. If he is a mirrored/flipped version of himself, that injury would now be to the left arm.

My theory is that when Wyatt is running away from the Rolling Giant in part 3, at one point he gets cornered and eventually busts down what looks to be a piece of plywood or something by slamming into it with his shoulder, so I think he injured his shoulder in the process of busting it down, but your theory also makes complete sense.

There are things that you are missing I think. Wyatt died and did get out. He got to the same place that the naturalist was and is. I don't think this is about "snapshots". I think everything might be happening all at once. This feels like we're looking at higher dimension events but without the ability to actually see the higher dimensions. He experienced both events at once, which is why his arm is hurt. Not having reception doesn't mean he's not from this world. It means he did not make it back "home" any more than he did when he died. He's been dispersed. He is many places and times at once, like the botanist, who may exist in the Giant, the past, and elsewhere at the same time.

So I just finished the video and I just wanted to say, I'm really glad your hopeful and more innocent take on the Giant lived on through this episode. The first time I had ever heard of or watched anything related to "The Oldest View" was through your first video and afterwards when I went to go look for more videos all of them just had the same outlook of the Giant being malicious or evil, saying that the Giant wasn't letting him leave or wanted him dead. Your videos on this series, where the giant was at first a being who was just trying to help Wyatt out and make him leave and then with new information just a lonely thing hanging out in the mall, are among some of my favorite videos on youtube.

Personally, I don’t think any parallel universe shenanigans are happening. The mall has demonstrated timey-wiminess inside, such as changing to a future version of itself without Wyatt or the giant being affected, or Wyatt’s body being visible before he falls in part 3. I think the giant (and/or the mall) turned back the clock to let Wyatt leave, but I don’t think it was due to any change of heart. I think it was all part of what it intended Wyatt to see, almost like as in a fairy tale. I think Wyatt ultimately left remembering his own death as well as two conflicting versions of events, and his behaviour after making it back to the surface is due to both being shaken up and experiencing strong cognitive dissonance.

I have no words, wonderfully done video, I love the idea of Rememberance and the fear of being forgotten, so much more of it makes sense in that context, and when you showed Kane's discord post everything clicked instantly, the fact that we are now the carriers of memorys of Julian, its as if he came back from the dead and Kane showing us gave him another chance to exist instead of being forgotten to the gap of unrecorded history, Keep up the good stuff mate 🤘

@Muzzle1300
@Muzzle1300 4 ай бұрын
Something I remembered from the first video was when Wyatt yelled “what do you want” and suddenly things started breaking apart but at the same time lights flickered revealing bodies, I think these are Wyatt’s from different timelines all converging in the mall all failed attempts to escape meaning the one leaving the clues and hints are actually just Wyatt doing trial and errors until finally one succeeds. My theory is that in this world you take on the image of what you were last known for, in the beginning we see Julian as he was as a normal person but now he’s the giant as the image of him was distorted, and the issue is if Wyatt dies who’s last view of Julian was the giant then all that will leave is the destroyed version the giant to be doomed to watch everything decay. If this is the case then I think the giant can be somewhat guiding Wyatt to actually escape, even though the giant will still be stuck in the “mall” he’ll be able to freely move as the last things someone remembers of him is being a giant moving around, so once everything decays and goes back to the forest the giant is free to move in the world. One thing I would point out is how off the giant is when it’s pursuing Wyatt as it can kill him at any point yet chooses to leave him alone, I think it’s trying to spook him in the correct direction, when he’s at the escalators it leaves him alone as he’s going the right way putting in Wyatt’s mind that upstairs is safe but only when Wyatt is up the stairs knowing about the exit does the giant continue pursuing him, perhaps this is him continuing to spook him as a “there’s no turning back”. The giant also has a big gain if Wyatt escapes with footage of the giant/Julian kind of going into a meta narrative, it guarantees it’s existence further as Wyatt will post the video online getting the giant more attention and even more of his original self

Kane took something doomed to more or less being forever forgotten, and has more or less immortalized it into the memory of the internet. The imagery of the hole opening and exposing the Giant to light is exactly what happened with the Giant. If you watch Wendigoon's first watch stream of Part 3, kane joins in, and after Wendigoon is done watching it, he shows him a lot of the source footage used in Life Of A Giant, and tells the story of how he found out about the Giant in the first place, and how, amongst a small circle of his friends, they had become extremely fascinated by the Giant and how it became the centerpiece of this story. Wyatt 'dies' on the day the mall is destroyed. This is the truth; the mall is dead, Wyatt is dead. But a snapshot of the mall will live on; in archival footage of it, and in the Oldest View. While Wyatt is dead, he lives forever in this story. So does the Giant. And as Kane unburied the Giant, the Giant now can take Wyatt's Kia for a spin and go flying down the highway, to intrigue and fascinate us all. In the end of Dispersal, Wyatt is the Giant and the Giant is Wyatt. Look again at wyatt again when he resurfaces. He's not even walking right. This Wyatt isn't anymore the actual Wyatt than the Giant was the actual Giant in the actual Mall. It's a piece of that 300,000 years of unknown mystery escaping out again. I don't think Kane is likening himself to an Archaeologist making a breakthrough discovery setting the timeline of humanity further back than we thought. I don't think he thinks he's discovered Gobleki Tepe, he's just likening them. He made his own discovery, and while it isn't the same thing as helping establishing the longevity of humanity, it is going to get it's own wikipedia page. The purpose of this was the immortalize the Giant, immortalize Julien Reverchard, immortalize a piece of Dallas, hell, two pieces of Dallas, immortalize the feelings these liminal spaces give us. I think that's the purpose of the whole project. I think you're missing the point when you go on about entities or alternate timelines or realities. Kane has said TOV isn't an alternate reality. It's our reality.

yeah and Julien was in the rolling giant cuz it was the only thing that can move on wheels in the mall and he could not change his look but he just wanted to have someone with him and didnt really want to hurt wyatt so he didnt want him to leave cuz that would leave him all alone tho wyatt's mindset was that julien wanted to kill him. My take is he hurt his arm when he fell on the stairs at the beginning of the climb. He could also be having a small heart attack, as he ran up like, a kajillion stairs without taking a long rest. The more interesting thing to me, is that Wyatt is glitching. The distant view of Wyatt showing him "escaping" into the outside world is pixelated- he at first has a low framerate, he then smooths out after a certain distance, but he's always slightly off-key, always slighting poorly clipping. Kane's usually really good at mixing and blending, so these obvious "gaffs" seem intentional, to show that Wyatt is somehow out of sync- or perhaps, isn't alive. My take is Wyatt died, but just as the mall and the giant are a memory lingering, Wyatt too, is a memory- one saved upon a phone, one uploaded to KZbin- and because we remember Wyatt, Wyatt lives on even after he "dies". So this "ghost" of Wyatt has a chance to escape- he has no signal, he has no connection, because he's dead- and thus only exists digitally in a kind of fake world. The drive home, the warping, all look like it's being done a "live" version of Google Maps, the 360 view- not the real road, but a memory of it. Wyatt and the giant live on in memory.

I think it has to be what you said or he got hurt in the mall (like when he fell and died)

1) 9:30 Wyatt's "original" body is also shown in "The Rolling Giant (The Oldest View Part 3)", aka the version of the video in which he dies. 2) 9:45 In Dispersal, the "A" in "AMC" only comes loose after Wyatt enters the stairwell. Prior to that, it's secured in place just like it is in Part 3 and I'd assume comes loose when the structural support collapses, like it did in Dispersal. 3) 9:52 Assuming we took a screenshot at the exact same moment in both videos, the malls would probably look exactly the same.

the company which owns the mall is starting a project Dallas Midtown as a form of mall revival. This is what brought Wyatt back. If the mall is demolished in real life and what "remains" of it metaphysically is underground and thats where Wyatts death takes place, then bringing it back up will make Wyatt's death impossible. Timey whimey movie mall magic. But it makes sense.

This is likely totally unrelated, but i figured it be worth bringing up just in CASE it ends up being something later, but i find it curious how Scott Beck, a real person, shares a name with Ivan Beck, a reoccurring character in Kane' s other work. It may be a coincidence, and I'm unsure if Kane knew of Scott Beck before he chose the name Beck for the backrooms, but it would be interesting if we later found out that these two characters might be connected. Its most likely nothing, but still a neat coincidence to think about

I'm not someone that has the right to confront your theory as I only watched and didn't analyzed every aspect of Kane's "The Oldest View" videos (and I remember few things about your latest videos before that one). However, I've never had a good feeling about the Giant; the way it acts is very agressive. I think your theory tries to explain it's behavior very well, but I still get incoherent vibes between your theory with the giant's attitude. For example, how can you explain this part of the last video considering this current theory: when Wyatt asks for the Giant "What do your want?" and then you see some animals's dead bodies before the Giant charged against him. The Giant's way of acting is my main doubt. Cool video though, I really liked.

I still find the giant on the road at the end strange. Sure, his viewpoint might not move up or down, but we see him looking *sideways* while still moving forward. We can hear his typical rooling too. We have never seen him be able to twist, and so far he was only able to move forward and turn, not swerve to the side, so I don’t know who that‘s supposed to be possible.

As the video explained, It's more of a emphatic thing by adding the rolling sound but the giant is actually not there. He is said to live inside Wyatt's mind and seeing through Wyatt.
