As a born and raised Albertan, all I can say is immigrants coming from warm weather countries don’t understand how BRUTAL Canadian winters are. They hurt. Theyre miserable. Weather is a huge deciding factor when moving here, and Calgary winters are much more bearable than Edmontons. So keep that in mind friends.

The fact that they don't require a job offer makes it so much more accessible, but I wonder if you are obligated to get a job once you get there... For example, if they nominate me, and I already have a remote job with a company from a different country, e.g. USA, would that impact my provincial nomination in any way?

Where as the primary role of a Data analyst is providing insights on the data to make business decisions. There are no duties mentioned for an actual Data Analyst. While this video has great information, it does not talk about both Calgary and Edmonton being within the hailstorm alley of Alberta. Hails as big as grapefruits have been reported to fall from the sky causing severe damage to houses and cars. Over the years, and almost every year, these hailstorms have cost billions of dollars in damages. Good property and car insurance may help ease some of the burden caused by these hailstorms.
