As far as bullet goes looks like fired mini ball possibly 1860s will say it is hard to be exactly sure from short pic and vid of it . It does take some time for lead bullets to develop the white patina. Nice find and well worth keeping

"That was the magic crack right there for whatever reason." IMO The reason is the vertical wall on the rock to the left of that crack creates the right hydraulics in the eddy that forms there in high water. See 10:05. The (video) pan from 9:59 puts the location in perspective.

Jerry, great little video. Call me corny but l liked the pizza adventures at Mike's too. I like seeing the fun stuff that goes with the quest for gold!
