6 Months Later *NATURAL POOLS* Using Biological Filtration - Aquascape Recreation Swim Ponds

This video is all about natural swimming pools aka recreation ponds. We have noticed a huge increase in requests from our clients to build "natural swimming pools" or "recreation ponds".
These are a great alternative to traditional chlorinated pools or salt water pools. In our natural pools, we use a biological filtration system paired with a skimmer but on a much larger scale. This is called a Wetland Filter and an Intake Bay when building a larger eco system. We use the Aquascape Inc. method and equipment to build all of our water features.
In addition to the biological filtration system, we added U.V. (ultraviolet) light sterilizers, an automatic dosing system (for water treatments & natural beneficial bacteria) and a IonGen G2 filtration add-on. These boost the filtration and clarity of the water so swimming in a natural pool feels refreshing and clean.

He said it actually got to 87°. This thing was cooking like a sauna 🤣. In Houston our pool water temperature gets in the mid to upper 90s every summer and everybody complains about it so some people have pool chillers.

Hello, Thank you for this amazing inspiring content. Quick question; how long can you leave such a pool Unattended? And if you leave it unattended for several months, what should be the procedure after that?

Good question! You need to add in Beneficial Bacteria regularly to a pond or pool using a biologic filtration system. Just as a traditional pool needs attended to, so would a swim pond. It would be about the same as that. We use an Automatic Treatment Dispenser from Aquascape to dispense the bacteria daily into the pond with a small pump hidden inside a container. So you need to replace these bags of treatment once a month usually. And take a pool net to net out any leaves maybe once a week. You can also hire someone to maintain this for you while you are out of town if thats what your concern is. But the longest time unattended - maybe a month.
