I train mainly to stat healthy and in shape, I bought complete calisthenics program some time ago and although it is great I feel it's not perfect for my goal and the effort I can put in it (biggest issue for me is consistency). I will buy the body transformation program soon ✌🏻

I'm bulking currently and train calisthenics. I gain some weight but my progression were regressed as well. I used to be able to do 12 reps of parallette d archer push ups, but after gain some weight I'm loosing it and now currently stick in Normal Push ups on parallette. So does with Leg, back then i could train asissted pistol squat and later on Bulgarian split squat at one session. But after gaining more weight from bulking, i struggle to get 3x12 sets of Bulgarian split squat, let alone Assisted pistol squat Is it normal?
@isashi6668
@isashi6668 2 ай бұрын
I think it's normal, because bodyweight exercice are way more difficult when you gain some weight, even muscle gain, and strength gain. But when you say you are bulking, you mean you train with free weights or with street lifting?

7:01 "It's basically powerlifting with muscle ups.." Until they keep including muscle ups in the competitions, streetlifting is like powerlifting and weightlifting combined, which is the dumbest thing ever because all the powerlifting lifts are about strength and all the weightlifting lifts are about explosiveness. Dips and pullups / chinups can be considered similar to powerlifting lifts, since they''re also about strength, but not the muscle ups.

I am following your Caliathenics course now for over a year (now starting level 4) and start to make some progress withskills. However despite being in quite good shape I am starting to feel my age of 62, mainly in the tendons. Just recently I slightly stressed my left arm biceps tendon. How should one cope with such (minor) injuries? Completely stepping down from training? At my age muscle loss happens much faster and I always struggle with considering sufficient recovery versus keeping a minimum activity level.

This was a great breakdown. I'm familiar with the categories, but never really reflected on how they occur in my training. I'd say mine is 30% aesthetics (not for aesthetics so much as isolation/control) 10% skills 10% freestyle 10% mobility 30% sets and reps 10% street/weighted I know it's kind of a part of both skills and freestyle, but I feel like both isometric and power have their places, too.

In the street lifting when you say heavy and light days, do you refer to light intensity days and high intensity or to using lighter and heavy loads? Also, where I can learn all the in depth theory about training you mentioned?
@emirobinatoru

Light loads with explosiveness + higher count vs Higher loads with slower (or same speed) and lower reps.
@eleggs
@eleggs 2 ай бұрын
In sportscience "intensity" is the amount of load or resistance. What most people mean when they say intensity is effort meaning how close you go to failure. So intensity is not how exhausted you are after training. So when we say intensity we mean the amount of resistance you use which can be expressed by your max amount of reps (RM amount). So 5RM is a higher intensity (higher load/resistance) than 20RM.

It's easy just try to focus on balancing and strength. Go slowly down while maintaining a normal squat position and try to maintain the other leg straight and use all your strength to go up slowly while maintaining the posture. Do it with the help of the wall for practice.

if u limited on equipment is pushups pullups and squats all u need for muscle gain . just the three basic movements then progress to harder variations to build muscle so im only doing 3 excercises at a time + can i do fast reps to build muscle
@emirobinatoru
@emirobinatoru 2 ай бұрын
If you can do a pull up and a push up then you unlock like a gazillion variations that you can use. For legs it is much more difficult to progressively overload without equipment (I too am saving for a >=bw sandbag to do lunges and such.). When it comes to slow vs fast reps, do both and adjust depending on your goals and skills you want to unlock. Eg: For muscle ups, explosive hollow push ups are a king, and for something more controlled like rings exercises, slower will give you a better feel

OG Calisthenics is from Old Greece, hence the name. Body weight exercises themselves predate any nation, probably even homo sapiens.

@@willguggn2 the iconography from the region of India is definitely older than Greece as a country but it is kind of silly to say that something man-made would be older than men itself. I can't believe anybody would like your comment. 🤦 Also, in America, OG just stands for Original Gangster, sometimes even the word original itself.

@@LatimusChadimus Modern humans arrived in the Mediterranian 130k years ago, 50-80k years later in India. I'd guess being 50k years early qualifies as OG rather than being 50k years late. And yes, there were humans long before anatomically modern humans, who also practiced culture and most likely body weight exercises, too. You may have heard of Cro-Magnons and Neanderthals for example.

@@willguggn2 there aren't enough fossil records to prove humans Beyond 7000 years. After the global flood that resorted the world into layers you had civilization restarting in the land of Turkey but still when it came to modern training there are more records in India than around greece. The layout of the Earth can prove my statement more than your fake numbers that people just guessed.

@@willguggn2 there aren't enough fossil records to prove history beyond 7,000 years, but after the global flood that sorted the world into the layers we have today, human civilization restarted in the land of Turkey. You still have more iconography coming out of India maybe one or two thousand years older than anything coming out of grease. At least my claims are proved by the Earth itself and yours comes from nothing but guesswork of people just making things up because they have no actual idea. That's why it's called a theory compared to reality. There are even stone tablets that talk about life Before the Flood that shows that Greek mythology is derived from the giants that ruled the people before the flood but you don't have to accept reality. That's your choice. At least every single signs out their points towards design not random chance because if it was left up to random chance every single species would have died long before it had the ability to thrive to adapt and to reproduce.
