I think we've reached a point where the differences are more down to developer preference. Treyarch does NOT want their games to look like Infinity Ward's games due to them going for a different artstyle. I think it's one of the more obvious differences between the 2 studios. It's not like how Infinity Ward changed the lighting from MW2019 to MWII to be more flat.

The only reason mw2019 appears more 'photorealistic' is due to its heavily gritty and contrasting lighting, which they had to tone down for visibility (mw2019 had horrible visibility, where even mid-dark coloured skins easily blended in dark corners)

@@SayakMajumder as much as I love mw2019, I do hate its diehard fans. MW2019 was, gameplay-decisions-perspective-wise, a very poorly designed game. The intense immersion felt incredible initially, but got overshadowed by trouble caused by gameplay issues like dark corners, over complicated maps with doors/windows everywhere, loud as shit footsteps, missing red dots and ninja perk, slow ads speeds, etc.

i rly like that there's a clear artstyle difference between the 2 studios. infinity ward is going for a more realistic look, with reloads that have human error and simple inspects while treyarch is sticking to their more colorful style with more flamboyant inspects and reloads. really makes the 2 sub series different.

Black Ops 6 has some better diffuse shadowmaps, varying from object distance for light source. It's a nice detail. Whereas the shadows in MW2019 are uniform unless you use raytracing.

When the mag runs out and the slide locks back, the BO6 presses the "slide release" which isn't a slide release and MW pulls the slide back (like it is in real life, I have shot one lol). I can't lie, BO6 does have very good animations but definitely not much better than MW2019 if at all, for example the SIG552 I would say has quite a bit better reload animations in MW2019 than in BO6, generally the animation quality is similar but 2019's animations look just a bit more polished and precise. However that's not even a big deal at all, the biggest issue is the fact that MW a game from 2019 still looks better than a game from 2024. The lighting and color pallet is just unbeatable in 2019.

Im honestly amazed at how Activison and the devs have managed to make every CoD since MW2019 consistently worse than the last in *almost* every aspect possible. Graphics, art direction, animations, sound design, writing, and yes, even gameplay all combined to be probably one of the best feeling CoDs ever made. Perks were perfect. Guns felt amazing. Camo grind was challenging and rewarding. It didn't have the best map selection, but the good ones from the bunch played and looked great. The only game that has managed to somewhat capture what MW2019 felt like has been MW2023 and even then it is still x10 worse than its old-gen prequel in almost every aspect. MW2019 is not by any means perfect, but it's still somehow better than anything they have put out in the last 6 years and I would defenitely rather play that rather than this Cold War reskin.
