Call to prayer heard in Queens, New York, after successful campaign led by Egyptian-American

Muslims in the Astoria neighbourhood of Queens, New York, were overjoyed to hear the Muslim call to prayer for the first time on loudspeakers from a mosque, after an American with Egyptian roots successfully ran a campaign.
Activist and former congress candidate Rana Abdelhamid lobbied local authorities to permit three sound permits in the neighbourhood.

Most of the Muslim-majority countries in the world do have Churches and Synagogues and other places of worship, so what are you talking about? I think the only exception would be in Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia, where non-Muslims are not allowed to visit due to the sacredness that the 2 cities hold in Islam. But again, that’s in accordance with the extremist Wahhabi sect and was put into law by the corrupt Saud dynasty.

Many of our countrymen upon returning home sigh that they haven't been able to hear Adhan on a microphone since they left their country. For some it's a year's time, for others more than 5 years. Don't allow this. This is the way these people irritate the people of other religions, and make them vacate the area. Immediately stop these loudspeakers. They play it 5-7 times a day, minimum for 2-3 mins, everyday. If u are late removing this, they will cry minority rights. Stop it even before it starts.
