Best head to head comparison yet. When loft, lie, shaft, grip, and weight are all the same; it really lets you see the variance in clubs. Keep up the great video work! Wedge test (Vokey, Cleveland, Callaway). Do the same thing with 50-52 gap wedges
@3rdgroove8 жыл бұрын
...not really much of variance is it?
@dseo25438 жыл бұрын
Yeah, hardly any notable variance (apart from the possible offset on the Srixon). The perceived accuracy of the Callaways might not be apparent in another golfers hands. For me, I don't really see the point in these tests, most clubs in the same bracket from the usual manufacturers are all pretty good and nearly identical. Choosing one over another would only come down to looks/feel/price (or brand loyalty - Mizuno fanboys for example).
@jko88888 жыл бұрын
Hands down the best test you've done in my opinion. A very fair comparison of club design, technology, and nothing else.

Wow great review Rick, my experiences with these irons were a little different though as a higher handicapper (off 12). I had the CF16s for a season and I really wanted to love them as a forged cup face design but I really struggled with my spin numbers with these irons, I could not stop them on the other end and I found that these irons had not only a sweet spot but a hot spot as well where I would get the occasional shot that went 12-15 yards above my average. I tried the Mizunos but found them to launch too low or probably more like I struggled to get them to my desired trajectory. I now have the Z565s in the bag and I couldn't be happier, amazing feel, fantastic spin numbers and super consistent distances. I love this line of videos though, keep up the good work!

Man Srixon knows what's up. Not to take away from the other 2 brands but the Srixons make for a really clean, sleek look that really appeals to my eye. I have the 745's from last year and have nothing bad to say about them and will probably have them in the bag for a very long time. I'm glad they didn't change the style with the new models.

@3rdgroove8 жыл бұрын
8:08 a little bit??? EVERYTHING! If this test showed anything then it's that *same specs deliver same results*. And for some reason (head design?) Rick delivered the Srixon more shut than the Callaway, and the Callaway more shut than the Mizuno. Also Rick started the Srixon most consistently that's why the result was most consistent and hence he liked it the most :-) Interesting demonstration but of course that has no bearing on how you or I would strike and like any of those irons. So go and test for yourself if you are looking for new clubs.

The mizuno fitting process will have you purring guys. I've just had my fitting and ordered the jpx900 forged. I considered and researched a lot. It came down to Taylormade 790's, titleist ap2/3 combo. For me the mizuno's have won as the process fills you with confidence that you are indeed finding the best option for your game. Feel and outcome were my top 'wants' but luckily I love how these clubs look too but tbh their performance would have made me buy regardless. Loved the day and know I have my correct set. Good luck to all in your search. PS I'm recently a 10 hcpr from 12 a coule of weeks ago. These will improve my hcp further I'm 100% confident. Cheers

Wrong club for Srixon. Should have been the 765. Feels harder because the 565 has a steel face insert where as the 765 is fully forged.
@dirtyjuansancheez8 жыл бұрын
From a construction standpoint you are right but in general the 765s are a better comparison to the Apex Pros - much more of a players cavity than a mid-handicap cavity.

Great review as always but the Srixon club comparable to the other two is the Z765. The feel, spin characteristics and shot shape would have been more in par is testing with the Z765. the z565 are more of a improvement players club, might be why it was more left, with a lower spin to give you the distance and forgiveness. maybe the z765 would of maybe been a slight better comparison. Food for thought.

The Srixon was the only club delivering Dynamic Toe Up - the Callaway and Mizuno were slightly Toe-Down - dropping the Srixon 1 - 2 degree(s) more Toe Down likely would have straightened out the shots

I know that you set up all the clubs exactly the same to create as fair a test as possible, but is may be that the Srizon needs a slight change to the lie angle. If I have a club that is consistently left or right, an adjustment to the lie angle is the first thing I do to straighten it out. The worst is a club that goes both ways.

Rick, could you for once please notice the standard deviation. The clubs produce the same numbers within the error of the measurement. The only that's real is the bunching of the Srixon to the left. But then again, have a look at the standard deviation of the left/right deviation from target line. There's not much in it. That to me is the whole message of these videos.
