I believe that the assumption is that the Noah's flood story is all true, the world got covered by water, the clams living in the water made it up to the top of a mountain whilst it was still under water, then died there and got fossilized after the water receded. So they point to the clams as proof of the flood story.

It's not that mt Everest existed at the time of the Genesis Flood , but it was pushed up after the flood by Tectonic Plate collision . I live in Colorado and have an excavation business and have dug up clam shells high in the Rocky Mountains in Shale which is rock layer formed by underwater volcanic activity . Yes the flood is true

You all should consider the Kali Gandaki river gorge in the Himalayas. This is likely to have been formed by the the river that flowed into the sea before the collision of the Indian sub continent with the Asia plate. The river still flows out of the high plateau, through the mountains and on to the Ganges.

I'm pro choice, but for me someone trying to use word games to defend their position is a red flag showing they don't have any other arguments. The trees passing through multiple layers thing is real. Polystrate fossils. It has only ever been seen with trees though, and trees are arguably unique in that they can remain standing for potentially centuries after they die, which gives plenty of time for seasonal deposition to occur around them and build up in the right circumstances.

My comeback on shells found on top of mount Everest is simple.... if it were to rain and increase the water levels to cover mountains what make you think the shells left the sea bed and floated 5 miles high in the water then got trapped when the water receded. Go check the sea bed when its raining and see if the shell start floating

Because there wouldn't be brackish water? I think you think of the world at that time as it appears today. The whole of continents sunk due to water coming from beneath. The amount of fresh water from the deep, plus the water from the heavens, would leave the earth's small oceans filled with fresh water. We did not have large oceans until after the flood.

@@infinitedeath1384 hmm, I've used that argument too that predestination and free will simply can't coexist as it defeats the omniscience of god. However, I've read how they reply and it's not good. They'll say free will exists and that human decides their own fate and that's why evil exists because people stray from teaching of god. If free will doesn't exist, it would mean evil people are inherently evil and that would includes babies. That means, in an atheistic worldview, it is okay to delete evil babies/teens/adults.
